Preparing leaves for crafts

Drying

The leaves are placed between the pages, lined on each side with paper napkins. The collected materials can also be dried with an iron, placed between the album sheets.
Skeletonization
With this type of processing, very beautiful openwork blanks are obtained from the leaves.
The table shows what types of skeletonization exist and their features:
Type of skeletonization | Processing time | What to use |
Dry | Almost 20 min. per 1 sheet | A hard brush with natural bristles |
Natural | 1 month | Water, a container with a lid, medium-hard brushes. |
Wet | 3 hours for cooking and 2 days for drying | Water, chemical solvent, toothbrush. |
Chemical | Soak until the blanks turn white | Water, bleach and a press to dry. |
