Pencils, paper and supplies

Cool pencil drawings do not require searching for expensive tools. You can draw in a notebook or in an album.

A standard set of graphite pencils for drawing: soft, hard and hard-soft:

Step by step drawing process

Dragon's head

1. An oval is drawn on the sheet, divided by an arched line into 2 parts, as shown in the figure.

2. The upper and lower jaws of the dragon are drawn under the auxiliary line.
3. The artist drew teeth and a tongue in the animal's mouth.
4. Approximately in the middle of the auxiliary line, the artist drew an eye, and above it – brow ridges. Nostrils, a fold in the corner of the mouth, and growths on the head appeared.

5. A neck with spikes is drawn under the head.

6. The auxiliary circle and line must be erased with an eraser. The drawing is ready.

The grin of a shepherd dog

1. A circle is drawn on paper. A wavy line is drawn from it, dividing the figure into 4 arcs.
2. The figure, formed from two elements, became the animal's head. The artist drew the forehead, upper and lower jaws.
3. A nose, an eye, a mole and folds appeared in the drawing.
4. The artist drew the teeth and tongue.

2. In the center of the circle there is a wavy line drawn (the core of the flower).
3. The artist added rose petals above the core.
4. To make the bud open, you need to add a few more petals.

5. The lines behind the rose are parts of the cross.
6. The artist painted leaves and thorns on the cross.

Advice from the pros

There is no need to buy expensive sets with a large number of pencils of different hardness. It is more profitable to buy only 3 necessary pencils (soft 2B, hard 2H and soft-hard HB).

To make it easier to find the right pencil, you can come up with a system of marking the tool. On a hard pencil, you can leave a notch with the number "1" with a knife, on a soft pencil - 2, on a soft pencil - 3 marks.

Artists advise sharpening pencils with a sharp knife or blade, not a stationary sharpener. In this case, the lead is thin and neat. A sharpener does not give such results.

If the rod is still long and its tip is dull, you can sharpen the pencil using regular or fine-grained sandpaper.

Not everyone can make cool drawings the first time. Don't despair, you need to practice regularly. Pencil drawing is a skill that anyone can develop.
