Yarn containing 100% wool can cause allergies. It is itchy and stretches quickly. Some manufacturers produce threads marked "Light", which means that the material has undergone industrial processing. With its help, wool becomes stronger and less itchy, but it can still cause skin irritation.
Most often, mohair yarn with a synthetic additive (acrylic) is used in knitting hats. The artificial component allows you to preserve the appearance and elasticity of things. The optimal ratio of natural and synthetic fibers is 50/50%. Acrylic ensures the durability and preservation of the appearance of the hat, prevents the formation of pellets on it.
Threads made of 100% synthetics can retain their appearance for more than 10 years, do not stretch, and do not cause allergies. But such yarn does not allow air to pass through, it is cold and is not suitable for knitting winter items.
Selecting spokes
The number of knitting needles must correspond to the diameter of the threads. It is better to choose a smooth, non-dyeing material for the covering of the tools. When knitting light-colored items, you cannot use aluminum knitting needles, as they will stain the threads.

- The row is finished in the same way: first, 15 LP, UB behind the back wall, 1 LP, UB behind the front wall and so on to the end.
- The next row is knitted without UB using LP.
- Until there are 20 sts left on the knitting needles, decrease the number of sts every other row, knitting first 14 sts between the raglan lines, then 13 sts, 12 sts, and so on.
- The remaining 20 P are pulled together with a working thread, passing it along the entire circumference of the hat. The end is cut off and tucked inside the knitting.

- Next, knit the first row of the pattern: 2 LP, 1 IP, remove the loop to the VC (you should count the loops so that this is the IP), 1 LP, 1 IP from the additional knitting needle, remove the loop to the VC, 1 IP, 1 LP from the additional knitting needle, 1 IP and repeat the rapport until the end of the row.
- 2 Rows of the pattern: 2 LP, 1 IP, 1 LP, 2 IP, 1 LP, 1 IP. Repeat the pattern until the end of the row.
- 3 Rows of pattern: 2 LP, remove 1 IP to VC, 1 LP, 1 IP from an additional needle, 2 IP, leave 1 LP on VC, 1 IP, 1 LP from VC. Repeat the rapport to the end of the row.

There are 3 ways to make a neat fold line where the outer and inner sides of the hat join.
Instructions for completing the first option:
- At the beginning of knitting, you need to cast on 2 times fewer loops than required by calculations.
- Knit 3-4 rows in stockinette stitch.
- Knit the next row to the end with the following rapport: 1 LP from the yarn over of the first row, 1 yarn over, 1 IP from the yarn over of the first row, 1 yarn over.
In the second option, you can knit the first row completely with IP after casting on the stitches.
In the third method, the border is made with teeth. To do this, the entire first row is knitted with a rapport of 1 UB (2 P knitted together) and 1 yarn over. This method is not suitable for knitting the lower part of the hat with an elastic band, since the pattern on the finished headdress will look untidy.

- The inner part of the headdress can be knitted with threads that are 1 mm thinner than the yarn of the outer part. - The inner part of the hat can be knitted 2-4 cm shorter than the outer part so that the headdress does not wrinkle when worn and sits neater.
