- Foamiran has a porous structure, so it is easy to paint. Both various paints and regular eye shadows will do. The dye for brooches and hairpins is chosen to be more durable. But you can only change the color on the matte side.
- When heated, the material does not emit toxic substances, poisonous fumes or unpleasant odors.

Features of working with the material
Flowers from glitter foamiran can be made by anyone. It is very easy to work with such material. It is pliable, soft. But in order for the craft to be neat, you should know the features of interaction with this material.
Foamiran is flexible. It stretches very well. But you can't overdo it, otherwise it will tear. When petals for flowers are created from foamiran, the blanks are heated. This is done in order to give them the desired shape. However, overheating should not be allowed, otherwise the material will shrink.
Foamiran comes in different colors. But sometimes the master adds shades to it using additional coloring. In order for such a layer to hold well, it should be covered with acrylic varnish.
Although foamiran has a porous structure, it can only be glued together using special hot glue. It is not possible to fasten parts together with PVA or regular carpentry material.
Glitter foamiran has 2 surfaces: matte and shiny. During cutting of blanks, the structure is broken. To preserve it and prevent deterioration of the appearance of the craft in the future, the edges are slightly singed with a lighter.
There are 2 methods of working with foamiran:

Experienced hand-made craftswomen know how to heat foamiran over a candle or lighter. However, this method is not recommended for beginners.
Necessary tools for work
The following set of tools is most often used to work with foamiran:

The simplest flowers
One of the simplest master classes on making a flower from glitter foamiran.
Materials:
- glitter foamiran: green for leaves and colored for petals;
- lighter;
- toothpick;
- ruler;
- scissors;
- hot glue + gun.
Sequence of actions:
- The petals are cut out of bright foamiran. On its matte side, using a ruler, 14 rectangles are marked. Their size is 1.5 x 2.5 cm.
- Rectangles are cut out of glittery bright foamiran.
- Their edges are scorched.
- Each rectangle is given the shape of a petal. To do this, one part is rounded. Sharp corners are cut with scissors. Externally, the shape should resemble an oval-shaped nail.
- Take a lighter. Turn it on and let the surface heat up. Remove the flame and press the matte part of the petal to the hot head of the lighter.
- The warm blank is bent with the glitter side facing out.
- Repeat this manipulation with the remaining petal blanks.
- Turn on the hot glue gun to warm up.
- From a single piece of glitter foamiran, cut out a rectangle 1 cm wide and 9 cm long. This will be the center of the flower.
- The rectangle is glued lengthwise using hot glue.
- The resulting sausage is twisted into a spiral. Hot glue is used to fix it.
- Make the 1st row of flowers. For this, take 6 petals.
- Glue the petals to the spiral, with the rounded top facing up.
- Glue the 2nd row of petals on top of the 1st row. You will need 8 blanks for this. Work with hot glue.
- Using scissors, cut out 2 leaves from green foamiran.
- Their edges are scorched with a lighter.
- Give them a curved shape by holding the matte side against the warm surface of a lighter.
Glue the green petals to the bottom of the flower.
Rose
Flowers made of glitter foamiran are widely used in the beauty industry (hairpins, brooches) or in interior decoration.
Crafts imitating roses are in great demand. They look great both in group compositions and in single ones.
Option 1
Materials:
- Red glitter foamiran.
- Scissors.
- Rose leaf mold.
- Iron.
- Hot glue gun.
- Lighter.
Sequence of actions:
- From red glitter foamiran cut out 1 square 4.5x4.5 cm + 3 5x5 cm.
- Work with a 4.5 x 4.5 cm square. Fold it in half - matte base inside, and then unfold. Repeat the manipulation, but with the other side. As a result, a cross pattern should appear on the foamiran.
- Using scissors, make cuts along the lines of the cross, without reaching the middle of the square.
- The square has 4 sections. They are given the shape of petals by cutting off the sharp corners with scissors. The result should be a blank that looks like a four-leaf clover.
Work in a similar manner with the remaining 3 5x5 cm squares.
When all the blanks are ready, proceed to the next stage:
- Heat the iron to medium temperature.
- A blank made from a 4.5 x 4.5 cm square is applied with the matte side to the heated surface of the iron.
- Hold tightly to the hot surface for 5 seconds. As soon as the foamiran begins to bend and become soft, remove it from the iron.
- The core of the workpiece is pressed down so that the petals rise slightly upward.
The procedure is repeated with blanks obtained from 5x5 cm squares. After this, the edges of the forms are lightly sealed with a lighter. During the process, each petal is slightly bent in the middle, giving it relief.
Next steps:
- Cut green Iranian or any other matte foamiran into small squares. They will then form petals from them.
- Place a rose leaf mold in front of you.
- Apply a piece of green foamiran to the iron.
- As soon as the foamiran has heated up and become soft, it is pressed against the mold.
- Petals are cut out from the pieces (their size is selected to match the rose).
Flower assembly:
- Work with a blank made of a 4.5 x 4.5 cm square. Raise two opposite petals towards each other. Using hot glue, form the characteristic core of the rose.
- In a similar manner, the remaining 2 petals are raised and secured at the base.
- Take a blank made from a 5x5 cm square. Drip some glue into its core and place the previous form here.
- The petals are raised, forming a half-open rose. To do this, the glue is dripped as close as possible to the base of the petals so that their top remains free. Due to this, it will be possible to create the relief and versatility characteristic of the rose.
The remaining parts are connected using the assembly method. Green leaves are attached to the bottom of the finished flower.
Rose from glitter foamiran, option 2
Materials:
- Glitter foamiran of any color (rose can be chocolate, pink, yellow);
- Eco-leather. Leaves will be made from it.
- Toothpick.
- Scissors.
- Ruler.
- Bead on a skewer.
- Felt.
Sequence of actions:
- From glitter colored foamiran, cut out 2 strips of the following dimensions: 12x1.5 cm and 20x1.5 cm.
- On the matte side of the blanks, use a toothpick to mark stripes every 2 cm. The distance is measured with a ruler.
- Using scissors, one side of each piece is given a wave-like shape. Cut out, using the marks from the toothpick as a guide. So, on the short strip there should be 6 wave-like bumps, and on the long one – 10 pieces.
- Turn on the iron to maximum.
- The following actions are performed in turn: each section is applied to the hot surface of the iron with the matte side, held for 3 seconds, detached and the edge of the wave is bent inward (press the shiny side to the matte side). Do this with 2 strips.
- Take a short strip. Cut it as follows: detach 2 waves, then one at a time. You should get 4 blanks.
- The long strip is cut into single petals completely.
- Take a bead with a diameter of 1 cm on a skewer.
- Heat up the glue gun.
- Take a blank with 2 piece petals.
- The lower, straight edge is coated with glue from the glitter side.
- Wrap the blank around the bead, gluing it.
- Glue all the pieces together in a similar manner, forming a rose.
- The skewer at the base of the bud is cut off.
- A round base for the rose is cut out of felt.
- Two leaves are cut out of eco-leather.
- Using glue, attach green leaves to the base of the rose.
- Attach the rose to the felt base.
Peonies
Flowers created from glitter foamiran according to this master class can be used as decorations. They are placed on headbands, hairpins. They can even be used to decorate bags or bracelets.
Materials:
- Glitter foamiran 2 mm thick.
- Bouquets of stamens (selected to match the color of the foamiran).
- Scissors.
- Toothpick or sharp stick.
- Ruler.
- Iron.
- Hot glue.
- Round mold for peony petals. If you don’t have one, you can use any round object. The diameter of the ball is 2 cm. Any material: plastic, rubber, foam.
Sequence of actions:
- On the matte side of the glitter foamiran, mark out 8 squares measuring 5x5 cm.
- Cut out squares with scissors.
- Heat the iron to maximum temperature.
- Take 1 piece, holding it by 4 corners.
- Place the square (matte side down) against the warm surface of the iron, holding it by the corners.
- As soon as the foamiran starts to melt, it is removed and wrapped around a mold or ball. It is important to get a convex shape.
- The blank is removed from the ball or mold.
- You need to trim the uneven edge. It is important to keep the rounded shape. The approximate thickness of the petal is 1.5 cm. Cut off about 3.5 cm.
- A heart-shaped cut is made on the top of the petal.
- Proceed in a similar manner with the remaining 7 squares.
- From the scraps of foamiran make a strip 5 cm long and 7 mm wide.
- Heat up the glue gun.
- Glue a strip of glitter foamiran under the stamens with the shiny side facing out.
- Make the first row of petals. For this, take 3 blanks.
- The petals are glued at the very bottom tip, under the base of the stamens, to a shiny base created from a strip.
- The next 2 blanks are glued in a circle, overlapping the previous petal by 2-3 mm. The main task of the first row is to make a smooth base for the peony. It should come out in a spherical shape.
- The petals of the 2nd row are pre-stretched to make them more voluminous.
- The 1st petal of the 2nd row is glued in the middle of the previous two, which form the base of the peony.
- The subsequent petals are glued in a circle, overlapping the previous one by 5 mm (1/4).
- The last petal is glued so that it goes under the first one in the second row.
- From green glitter foamiran, cut out 2 squares measuring 2x2 cm.
- Peony leaves are cut out from the squares.
- Apply the matte side of the foamiran to the hot surface of the iron so that it takes on a convex shape.
- The excess material at the bottom of the peony is removed.
All that remains is to glue the green leaves and the peony is ready.
Orchid
Flowers made of glitter foamiran are durable. They practically do not fade and retain their shape well. A quality craft is not afraid of moisture. However, you should not wash the shiny material. Some of the glitter will be removed, which will reduce the decorativeness of the product.
Materials:
- glitter foamiran pink;
- pink corrugated paper;
- wire;
- foil;
- scissors;
- iron;
- toothpick or pencil;
- for winding wire green tape;
- orchid mold;
- orchid core and petal templates;
- glue gun.
Sequence of actions:
- Print out the templates of the orchid core and petals. You can also re-draw them yourself.
- Cut out templates.
- Take a sheet of glitter foamiran.
- Apply the templates to the matte side and trace around them with a toothpick or pencil.
- Cut out the templates. There should be 3 of them: a core, a T-shaped petal, and one in the shape of the number 8.
- I'm heating up the iron.
- Apply the matte side of the glitter petal blank to the hot surface of the iron.
- Hold for 3-4 seconds.
- Apply petals to the mold.
- The orchid core blank is applied to the iron.
- Hold for 2-3 seconds.
- Use your fingers to give the workpiece a convex shape.
- They take the wire.
- Its tip is bent into a loop.
- Wrap the loop with a small piece of foil.
- A butterfly or bow-shaped blank is cut out of corrugated paper.
- Glue it on top of the foil. It should form a small convex cone shape.
- They are picking a flower.
- The orchid core blank is strung onto a wire, pulling it towards a cone made of corrugated paper.
- They fix it with glue.
- Using the same method, string a blank of 2 petals, and then of 3.
The wire is covered with tape. 5-6 orchid flowers are made according to this principle. Then they are combined into a branch. Due to the fact that the wire bends, the orchid is given any shape.
Lily
Materials:
- toothpick or skewer;
- round nose pliers;
- Iranian foamiran, black color;
- glitter silver foamiran;
- scissors;
- glue-moment or hot;
- nippers;
- black acrylic paint;
- pen without ink;
- brush;
- thin wire No. 26;
- paper;
- pencil.
Sequence of actions:
- Draw a lily petal template on paper. You will need 6 pieces in total.
- Apply the template to the matte side of the glitter foamiran and trace around it.
- Cut out 6 petals.
- Three strips are cut out of silver foamiran: 1 cm long, 4 mm wide. It is better to take some extra, since the edges will have to be rounded. These will be the lily stamens. Their number can be increased. For example, cut out 4-5 strips.
- The blunt ends of the strips are rounded.
- Cut out 6 lily petals from black foamiran. Their size is larger than that of the glitter material blanks. If you attach a shiny petal in the middle of a black one, the latter should protrude forward by 4-5 mm.
- The wire is cut into 5 cm and 7 cm pieces. 6 and 3 pieces respectively. It is important that the pieces of wire have a sharp cut. Therefore, it is made diagonal.
- Take a 5 cm wire.
- It is glued along the petal made of glitter material on its matte side.
- Glue a black petal on top of the wire. You should get a composite structure: a shiny blank on a dark one.
- Apply a thin layer of glue to the side of the glitter foamiran and press the black Iranian one to it. The easiest way to do this is to use Moment glue. Dip a toothpick in it and coat the sides with a stick. This will make the work neat. The shape of a boat should come out.
- Due to the fact that there is wire in the middle of the structure, it can be bent. To do this, give the workpiece the shape of a rainbow, bending it with the shiny side up. The tip of the petal looks down.
Flowers made of glitter foamiran should exactly repeat the curved petals. To do this, do not be afraid to bend the wire. Do the same with the remaining blanks.
Once the petals are made, we begin to design the stamens:
- Take a wire 7 cm long.
- Step back from the edge approximately 4 mm.
- Bend the edge using a tool (round-nose pliers).
- Cut 7 cm long strips from black foamiran.
- Use your fingers to crush the material, making it thin.
- Take a strip and apply glue to its tip.
- Glue to the end of the wire and wrap the foamiran around it to about the middle of the length. Start doing this from the bend, leaving it open.
- Apply glue again, fix the strip to the wire and cut off the excess foamiran.
- Take blanks of stamens from silver foamiran.
- Place it on the curved end of the wire. For reliability, you can fix it with glue.
- The sides of the stamens are painted with black acrylic.
- Repeat this with the remaining stamens.
- At the end, the shiny part of the stamens is bent a little to give them a realistic look.
Once the stamens are ready, begin assembling the flower:
- The stamens are glued together at the bottom, forming a pistil.
- Petals are glued to the stamens.
- Cut a strip out of black foamiran.
- It is pasted around the base of the flower to create a beautiful bed.
The remaining ends of the wire can be cut off or used to secure the lily somewhere.
Glitter foamiran is used to make flowers for any need. They shimmer beautifully in the sun or artificial light.
