Every housewife always has something that has already become old, but it will not go to waste. Especially if this thing is worn a sweater from which you can sew cute house slippers with your own hands. Such slippers can be a good gift for a loved one who will appreciate a thing made by himself.
To sew slippers yourself, you will not need much time and special skills. Even a novice needlewoman can sew such slippers.
For work we will need the following materials:
- double sided tape;
- old sweater;
- pencil and a sheet of cardboard;
- Basic sewing tools.
Take a sheet of cardboard and place the foot on it, outline the contours with a pencil. At the same time, we need to add 1.5 cm along the perimeter for seams. Cut out all the patterns and do the same with the second foot. Take a sweater, lay it out, it is desirable that the sweater does not "fall apart" while cutting out the details.
This is worth considering when choosing a suitable sweater for slippers in advance. Place both pattern pieces on top of the sweater, outline and cut out. If the cardboard slips during work, it can be attached with double-sided tape.
To make the shafts of the future slippers-boots, you need to insert your foot into the sleeve of the sweater and pull it to the desired height. Cut off the sleeve at the very floor, and do the same for the second piece.
Now you need to connect the fabric foot with the shaft from the sleeve. To do this, take sewing pins and attach the two parts: the foot and the shaft using pins. First, connect where the big toe is and where the heel is, stretch the lower part of the shaft and then pin the sides.
After that, you can sew the parts together. We do the same with the second slipper, sew two parts together. Now the slippers are ready, if desired, you can decorate them with embroidery or other decor at your discretion.
