Selecting spokes

Calculation: 120\10 = 12x20 = 240 loops. To determine the length of the "endless" scarf, you need to stretch your arms in different directions and measure the distance between them. The width of the snood can be from 15 to 60 cm.

To tie a braid with a left tilt, you need to cross it in the other direction in point 3.

Openwork

Openwork patterns are suitable for summer and off-season models. To make the pattern textured, you need to knit from cotton, bamboo or viscose threads. Fluffy and bulky yarn is not the best option. This instruction describes a pattern that is often used by beginners.

The scarf fabric should be diamond-shaped with small holes at the bottom:

1. The initial row consists of 8 knit stitches. At the end, knit 2 knit stitches together, tilted to the right, and then make 1 yarn over.
2. Rows 2 and 3 begin with a yarn over and knit together 2 knits. Then 5 knits separately, 2 together and again a yarn over and 1 knit.
3. Now in the 5th row knit 1 knit, yarn over, 2 knit together. 3 knit separately, then 2 together, 1 yarn over and 1 knit stitch.
4. Row 7 begins with 3 knit stitches, knit 2 stitches together, yarn over and knit to the end of the row.
5. After 2 rows, knit 2, knit 2 together and yarn over. Then knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 together and knit stitches again to the end.
6. The last row of the pattern ends with 1 knit, 2 knits together, yarn over. 3 knit stitches, yarn over, knit stitches to the end of the row.

The openwork pattern on the snood fabric seems complicated, but after knitting a sample, the sequence of actions is easy to remember.

English elastic

English rib can be knitted in a straight or circular pattern. The knitting sequence remains unchanged.

Description:

1. After removing the edge loop, the entire row is knitted with front and back loops, alternating them by 1.
2. The next row again begins with an edge loop, then knit as follows: 1 knit, yarn over, slip 1 purl onto an additional knitting needle. The row ends with an edge loop.
3. In the 3rd row you need to make a yarn over and knit the loop from the previous row together with it.
4. Knit the loops and yarn overs from the bottom row together, make 1 yarn over, and remove 1 loop.

Next, the pattern is made up of repetitions of points 3 and 4.

Pearl pattern

A knitted snood with such a pattern turns out textured and soft. The most popular version of pearl knitting is small. If desired, you can make the pattern larger.

Knitting:

1. Remove the edge loop and knit alternating the front and back loops through 1. Knit the outermost loop as a back loop.

Braid with shadow

An interesting pattern that creates the illusion that the entire fabric is made up of knitted braids.

How to knit a sample:

1. Cast on 12 stitches and 2 edge stitches on each side. Knit the row with only face stitches. The next row – with only purl stitches.
2. 4 loops need to be transferred to an additional knitting needle and 4 loops knitted.
3. The next 3 rows are knitted only with front loops.
4. Now knit 4 stitches as faces, then slip 4 and transfer to an additional knitting needle. Knit the next 4 stitches as faces, and then knit the remaining 4 stitches on the additional knitting needle, also as faces.

The volumetric pattern is obtained from soft woolen threads, alpaca, merino, cashmere.

Double sided pattern

A snood scarf with knitting needles (diagrams with descriptions are presented further in the article) is often knitted using a double-sided pattern. The accessory will not have a front or back side. It is these scarves that can be worn not only around the neck, but also as a bolero or a hood.

A simple version of a double-sided pattern:

1. For the sample, cast on 25 stitches. Slip the edge stitch, knit 1 stitch, yarn over, slip 1 stitch without knitting.
2. Next knit 2 stitches together. Knit to the end, leaving 2 stitches. Knit 1 stitch as a knit stitch, and the edge stitch as a purl stitch.

Garter stitch

The simplest pattern for knitting snoods. The product is smooth, since the pattern is made of only 1 type of loops - purl or face. The advantage of garter stitch is that you can use any yarn for the work. Fluffy thick threads, as well as mixed colors, are suitable.

Large knit

For a voluminous and large pattern, you will need thick yarn, for which you need to select knitting needles. The fewer meters in the skein, the thicker the thread. The optimal option for knitting a snood is yarn 50 m per 100 g and knitting needles No. 10.

You can knit with garter stitch or with patterns, for example, with wide braids and cables. If you can't find a thick thread of a suitable color in the store, you can use thinner threads, but you will have to knit in several folds. In this case, it is better to avoid voluminous patterns, since the product will be heavy.

Network

This pattern got its name due to the unusual combination of purl and face loops. The pattern resembles a wicker basket made of thin stripes. You can knit with a small or large braid. Experienced craftsmen recommend that beginners first pay attention to the last option, as it is easier to master.

How to knit:

1. For the sample, you need to cast on as many loops as necessary so that their number is a multiple of 8 and add 3 more.
2. The first 3 loops are knitted purlwise, 1 knitwise, then 3 more purlwise. Thus, 1 row is knitted.
3. The next row starts with 3 purl, 5 knit and again 3 purl. The 3rd row is similar to the 1st, the 4th - to the 2nd. You need to alternate rows until there are 7 of them in height.
4. In the 8th row alternate: 4 knit, 3 purl, 4 knit
5. Row 9: 3 purl, 1 knit, 3 purl, to the end.

Up to row 12, you need to alternate rows 8 and 9, and then knit repeating the first 7 rows.

Leaves

The pattern in the form of convex leaves can be knitted in different ways. The leaves can be single or collected in a small bouquet. The "diverging branch" pattern is relevant for snoods. The pattern resembles a liana with rounded leaves looking in different directions.

How to knit:

1. Alternate 1 knit stitch and 13 purl stitches.
2. 1 purl loop, 8 front loops. 3 loops are knitted together as front loops, then a yarn over is made, a front loop. The last 2 actions need to be repeated 2.5 times. Then 8 front loops again. The actions are repeated from the beginning until the end of the row.
3. 1 purl stitch, then 6 knit stitches. The next 3 stitches are knitted together with a knit stitch. 1 knit stitch and 1 yarn over should be alternated 2.5 times. Then a double draw through is made and 6 knit stitches are knitted.
4. 1 purl stitch. 4 knit stitches. Knit the next 3 stitches together, 1 knit stitch. 1 yarn over. Alternate 3 times. Knit 4 knit stitches again. This completes the row.
5. The next row is knitted in the same way as point No. 3.
6. 1 purl stitch, knit 3 together. ; knit stitches, alternating 1 yarn over and 1 knit stitch 3 times. Then finish the row by repeating the steps from the beginning.

This pattern is clearly visible on products made of cotton, bamboo and smooth wool.

Pipe

This is one of the easiest patterns. You will need to knit vertical stripes on the front surface with purl stitches.

The width of the strip depends on the master's wishes. In the standard, the "pipe" has a width of 2-5 cm. The main thing is to knit each row identically, without skipping loops.

Norwegian style

Norwegian style involves a colored pattern on a garment knitted with the front surface.

While knitting, you need to change the thread to a different color and complete the pattern in accordance with special patterns.

What designs are typical for the Norwegian style:

• snowflakes;
• deer;
• rhombuses and triangles;
• small mark;
• stars.

The color scheme can be any. The most popular combinations are cold and monochrome shades.

The exception is a red or dark burgundy color product with white patterns.

Removed hinges

This pattern is based on elastic. The removed loops make the scarf fabric dense and warm.

Procedure:

1. To knit a sample, you need a number of loops that is a multiple of 2, excluding 2 edge loops.
2. In the 1st row, remove the edge loop, knit the entire row, alternating 1 front and 1 back.
3. In the 2nd row, the front stitch is tucked behind the wall, 1 back stitch is removed without being knitted, and so on until the end of the row.

Then points 2 and 3 are repeated until the end of knitting. This pattern looks good on items made from any yarn.

Honeycombs

The pattern looks like a honeycomb, which is why it has such an unusual name. A snood knitted with this pattern will be soft and light.

How to knit:

1. 1 knit stitch, then 1 yarn over. 1 stitch must be removed without knitting. The sequence of actions is repeated until the end of the row.
2. The next row begins with a yarn over. The next stitch is knitted, then 1 stitch is removed with a yarn over.
3. 1 knit stitch, slip yarn over, knit 2 knit stitches and slip yarn over again. Then knit 1 knit stitch.
4. Slip 1 stitch with a yarn over, then make 1 yarn over and knit the next 2 stitches together.
5. 2 front loops with yarn overs need to be slipped.

Then points 1 through 5 are repeated until the end of knitting.

Wavy pattern

An unusual pattern that will make the "endless" scarf unique. Experienced craftsmen advise knitting such a pattern, alternating threads by color every 1-3 rows.

How to make the "wave" pattern:

1. Rows 1 and 3 are knitted with purl stitches only.
2. Row 2 should be knitted only with front loops.
3. In the 4th row, 6 loops are knitted together (every 2 loops). You need to alternate the yarn over and 1 knitted loop 6 times until the end of the row.

If you increase the number of yarns and loops, the “amplitude of oscillations” of the wave will change, and the pattern will look different.

Rice

Another simple way to give your snood an unusual texture is to alternate 1 knit and 1 purl stitch in each row. It is important to arrange the loops of the new row in a checkerboard pattern in relation to the previous one.

Snood on circular needles in one turn

This model fits tightly to the neck, protecting it from the wind in the cold season. This snood is universal and suitable for men and women, the main thing is to choose the right color of the threads. The width of the finished product for adults should be at least 55 cm, and for a child from 3 to 7 years old - 45 cm.

To work you will need:

• Yarn (50% acrylic, 50% wool).
• Circular knitting needles No. 9.

How to knit a model for adults:

1. Cast on 61 stitches. All stitches should be distributed across the knitting needles so that the right one contains stitches together with the working thread.
2. Now 1 loop from the right needle needs to be pulled through 1 loop on the left needle and the thread tightened. This is necessary for seamless knitting.
3. Row 1 should be knitted only with front loops (60 loops), and row 2 – completely with back loops.

Snood made of sectional yarn

Sectional yarn is threads that are dyed unevenly. It is not recommended to knit snoods with complex patterns from such material, since the motley pattern is difficult to predict. If the accessory is knitted with a voluminous pattern, it will visually become heavy and less attractive.

Also, sectional thread is slightly coarser than regular wool, so it is not suitable for children. Their skin is much more delicate than that of an adult, and a scarf made of such yarn can cause discomfort to a child.

The best option for knitting from a “sectional” is a 2-turn scarf for adults. Width – 50 cm, length – 130 cm. The knitting pattern is simple: alternating rows, knitted only with front and back loops.

Snood hood

This model is suitable for adults and children. You will need to knit a rectangle, the sides of which will correspond to the measurements taken.

How to knit:

1. Even rows should be knitted with front loops, and odd rows with back loops.
2. To get an openwork pattern, you need to knit 1 yarn over, remove 1 stitch through 3 front loops.
3. At the beginning of the rapport, you need to remove 1 loop as a front loop, and then 2 as a back loop. After that, you need to make another 1 yarn over.

The pattern is performed until the end of knitting.

Warm snood

Warm and soft "endless" scarves are made from high-quality, thick thread.

Three-color model

Bright snoods can be knitted for both children and adults. The design can be very simple: colored stripes. For the women's model, you need to cast on 126 stitches, close the ring and knit the first 3 rows with a rib. The rib pattern: alternating 3 front, 3 back. The thread color needs to be changed every 3 rows.
