In Russia, the degree of hardness is indicated by numbers and letters, in the USA only by numbers:

• very hard – 2T or No. 4;
• hard – T or No. 3;
• hard-soft – TM or No. 2;
• soft – M or No. 1.

You can use tools from different sets at the same time. A soft pencil will do for shading the background, but to get a deeper, darker color, you will need a Russian tool marked "6M". You can also use it to draw small details.

White heart with a crack

A broken heart on a black background can be drawn using a stencil made of thin cardboard. The cardboard blank will help to carefully shade the strokes in the background.

Procedure:

• Draw a heart on thin cardboard. Cut it out.
• Place the blank in the center of the sheet on which the drawing will be made.

3. Sketch the shape of the wings.

• It is not necessary to draw a heart of a perfect, even shape. In drawings with such a theme, it should look broken, wounded, crumpled. Therefore, errors in maintaining symmetry will not spoil the drawing, but on the contrary, will add individuality to it.
