The panda is a cute animal that in our country children and adults can only see in zoos or in photographs. It is possible that the child will want to draw this animal himself, and his parents will be able to help him with this.
Easy drawing for copying
The main advantage of drawing a panda is that you can use only a simple pencil. You won’t need any other tools for coloring, because the fur of this animal has 2 colors – white and black. If you wish, you can add an environment to the picture, represented by bamboo or other plants, forest or tropical landscapes. When adding bamboo, you will need colored pencils, markers or paints of various shades of green.

Panda (a drawing for children can be done with a simple pencil and a sheet of paper) can be depicted on paper if you follow these steps:
No. | Stage | Description |
1 | Drawing an animal's head and limbs | The following must be done: 1. At the top of the sheet, draw a large arched line, the ends of which should point downwards. This will be the animal's head. 2. Draw a pair of small circles under the ends of the drawn arc. These will be the panda's paws. The upper circles should be slightly smaller. 3. Add a pair of circles at the bottom of the arc. These will be the lower legs. They should be the largest of the 3 pairs. 4. Draw the largest element of the panda's face - the nose. To do this, it is enough to connect the 2 upper circles with a pair of almost straight lines. Another pair of almost straight lines should come out of the right middle circle. The nose, which should also be represented by a circle, is located at the bottom of the head. This circle should be slightly smaller in size than those located next to it. When drawing the contours of the panda's upper limbs and nose, do not press too hard on the pencil. After all, you will not be able to draw the correct lines the first time, and then you will have to remove the excess with an eraser. After the lines have taken their correct places, you can draw them with a pencil again, this time pressing a little harder. |
2 | Detailing of the muzzle | Before moving on to this stage, you need to make sure that the preliminary drawing has been carefully prepared. You should double-check the contours of all the limbs, body, head and nose of the animal being drawn. Detailing the head includes the following steps: 1. Draw the ears. They should be represented by a pair of small circles located above the panda's head. Each of the ears should be connected to the head by a pair of short, slightly rounded lines. The result should be ears the same as those of the cartoon character Shrek. 2. Draw the eyes. Each of them should be represented by an oval located above the nose. The ovals do not necessarily have to be the correct shape. You can intentionally make the lines slightly crooked.
3. Draw the bottom of the panda's mouth. This should be a very small, arched line located under the nose. 4. Draw the chin, which will also become the bear's neck. It should be represented by a pair of wavy lines. One such line should be located to the left and right of the mouth. There is nothing complicated in drawing this detail. It is enough to ensure that these 2 lines are symmetrical relative to the nose. |
3 | Detailing of the entire drawing | At this stage, it is necessary to make adjustments.
To do this you need: 1. Remove unnecessary contour lines. 2. Add some elements to the muzzle. At the bottom of the nose, you need to draw a small triangle. Each eye should have 1 pupil. They are indicated by very small circles. 3. Draw several lines on the panda’s body, thereby giving the fur a realistic look. 4. At the ends of each paw, depict 4 claws, each of which can be represented as a small triangle. |
4 | Panda coloring | You need to take a simple pencil and apply a dark color to certain areas of the panda's body:
· on the ears; · the area around the eyes – a kind of dark “glasses”; · 4 paws. When coloring the panda's body parts with a pencil, it is worth remembering that this animal's fur is long and coarse. To achieve the desired effect, you should apply strokes so that gaps are formed. Otherwise, the drawn animal will look like a plush toy. |
Many beginning artists have problems with the proportions of the drawing at the first stages of drawing a panda and are not always able to immediately depict the exact contours of the circles.
If you have such difficulties, you can initially leave the figures that you get, and in the following stages give them a more correct shape.
Pencil drawing
A panda (a drawing of this animal for children can include various elements) can be placed on a tree branch. For such an image, in addition to paper and a simple pencil, you should prepare an eraser. After all, in the process of drawing, the artist will have to remove unnecessary lines more than once.
The stages will be as follows:
- Draw a large circle in the center of the sheet. Draw 2 lines in it so that their intersection point is located slightly below the center. One of these lines should be almost horizontal, and the other - almost vertical.
- Above the horizontal straight line draw 2 eyes, each of which is represented by small drops. In each eye, you should immediately draw small circles. These will be the pupils of the bear cub.
- At the very bottom, right on the vertical line, draw a nose. Its shape resembles a fur hat or a crown turned upside down.
- Below, outside the large circle, draw 3 arced lines that will indicate the mouth. 1 arced line is on the left, the 2nd is the same on the right; they are connected by the 3rd arc, located slightly lower.
- Draw the contours around the eyes. This is a very important element of the panda's "face", it is always black.
- Draw the outline of the head. In this case, use the circle drawn in stage 1 as a basis. The radius of the head should be larger than the radius of the auxiliary circle. When drawing a line indicating the outline of the head, do not press too hard on the pencil so that later you can remove unnecessary strokes with an eraser.
- When the outline of the head is created, draw the ears. Each of them is represented by 1 arched line. You can draw fur near the right ear.
- Draw the limbs that the panda has tucked under itself, and then the back of the body. All these elements of the drawing are depicted with arced lines.
- Proceed to drawing the tree branch on which the panda has settled comfortably. You can imagine the panda's "bed" with several wavy lines.
- Return to the panda and add some missing elements. If the work in the previous stages was done correctly, there should be no problems here. It is necessary to give the fur fluffiness. This is done by drawing numerous lines of different lengths beyond the body. Between the nose and mouth there should be several dots - places where the whiskers grow.
- Draw 1 line above each eye, starting approximately from the forehead.
- Color the image.
- The areas around the eyes, paws, ears should be shaded in black, and the nose should be made darker.
With paints
To paint a panda, you will need one color - black. If desired, you can use a little red. You can use it to paint the mouth.
A simple example of drawing a panda with paints can be done if you follow the following steps:
- Draw a circle in the upper part of the sheet of paper and an oval in the lower part with black paint. Only the outlines are needed, there is no need to color the figures. The circle is the head, and the oval is the body.
- Draw the ears located on the head. Each of them should be represented by a semi-oval. It is convenient to first draw an arc line and then color the resulting semi-oval. Both ears are drawn according to this principle.
- Draw a couple of ovals at the top of the head and color them so that there is a white spot in the center of each of them. What remains uncolored will be the eyes, and the black is the characteristic panda areas around them.
- Draw the upper limbs. They are on different sides of the body near its upper part. Both paws of the bear cub should be completely black. The lower paws, which are located under the body, are drawn similarly. They should also be completely black.
- Add a small black dot between the eyes. This will be the nose. Below you can draw a short stroke using red paint. This will be the mouth.
By the cells
Drawing by cells is a multifaceted activity. It is very useful for children, because it helps them develop attentiveness and patience. There are many options for drawing a panda by cells.
One of the simple options will require a notebook with a grid, concentration and attentiveness.
The drawing will be done on a rectangular piece of paper, 31 cells wide and 16 cells high. All you need to do is paint the indicated cells with a pencil or any tool that leaves black on the paper.
The numbering of vertical rows, of which there are 31, is from left to right:
Row | Which cells to paint black |
1st | 9th and 10th cells (from here on, counting from the top) |
2nd | 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 11th, 12th cells |
3rd | 2-7 cells and 12th |
4th | 1-6 cells and 13th |
5th | 1-6 cells and 13th |
6th | 1-5, as well as 14th and 15th |
7th | 1-5, and also 15th |
8th | 1-5, as well as 9th, 10th, 15th |
9th | 2-5, as well as 8-11 and 15- |
10th | 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9-11 and 16th |
11th | 4th, 7-11 and 16th |
12th | 4th, 8-10 and 16th |
13th | 4th, 12th and 16th |
14th | 4th, 13th and 16th |
15th | 4th, 10th, 13th and 16th |
16th | 4th, 10-12 and 16th |
The next 15 vertical rows are symmetrical to the first 15.
On bamboo
It is not for nothing that the panda is called a bamboo bear. This animal likes to spend time on bamboo. You can try to depict it lying on this plant.
To do this you need:
- Draw a round head of the animal and add its main details. This animal will lie on bamboo, so its head is tilted at 90°. The rest of the body is also horizontal.
- Draw eyes inside the circle: the right one will be at the top, and the left one at the bottom. They are closed in the bamboo bear, and this needs to be shown in the drawing. To do this, it is enough to draw 1 short vertical line in each eye.
- Add ears on the head, represented by semi-ovals.
- Place a small nose between the eyes. It will be just a dot.
- A little below the nose (in this case to the left, since the panda is lying down) draw the mouth. It can be represented by a short stroke.
- Draw the panda's body and a pair of paws. Only the upper right limb and the lower right limb are visible.
- Draw bamboo on which the bear cub is resting. To do this, draw a line slightly to the right of the head, going to the right. Then it curves downwards, simultaneously turning in the opposite direction, passes under the entire body of the panda and to the left of the body curves upwards, again turning in the opposite direction. On the resulting strip, draw a couple of transverse lines. They will make this strip look like bamboo.
- Color the image. Make the ears, paws and eyes of the panda black, and in this case the eyes are completely colored, because they are closed. The bamboo is almost all green, except for its right end, where the cut is shown, which should be yellow inside. Outline the bamboo with a darker shade of green.
Anime
Panda (a drawing for children can be done in anime style) anime, like other characters of this style, will have large eyes and a small mouth.
The stages of drawing are as follows:
- Sketch the animal. It will be 2 circles. The larger one is on top. The small circle is under the larger one, slightly intersecting with it.
- In the middle, draw an auxiliary vertical line that will simplify the drawing of symmetrical details of the head. Then draw an arc that will divide the large upper circle into the face and hood.
- Draw eyes on the face, which should be huge.
- Place a small mouth below the eyes.
- Draw a hood with black ears.
- Remove all unnecessary lines with an eraser.
Kung Fu
All cartoon lovers are familiar with the character called Kung Fu Panda. At first, he seems fat and clumsy, but in reality, he hides incredible strength of spirit. He does not look like ordinary pandas, so it is a little more difficult to depict. Here you will have to carefully work on the face, to which the animators tried to give human features.
The stages of the image are as follows:
- Start from the head. First draw a circle, and then draw the details of the face inside this circle. It is better to place the original drawing in front of you and try to carefully copy it. One eye is slightly smaller, it seems to be squinted. There is an eyebrow above the other eye. There is a short fringe on the top of the head. The nose protrudes slightly forward.
- Draw the ears - long semi-ovals. In each of them you need to draw 1 short line coming out of the head.
- Depict the bodyWhen drawing his contours, it is worth remembering that this character is plump: his belly should stick out a little.
At the bottom is a striped Kung Fu belt.
- Draw legsIt is important to remember that this unusual Kung Fu fighter wears shorts.
- Color the resulting drawing. Unlike those discussed above, it will be multi-colored, but a large area of the body will still remain black and white. The ears, paws and areas around the eyes, as well as the tip of the nose, should be black. All other parts of the body are white. The panda's belt is orange-brown, the shorts are beige.
To draw a panda for children or with them, it is enough to use a simple pencil, because the fur of this animal is black and white. The main thing to remember is which parts of the body are black. These are the ears, the areas around the eyes and the paws.
