It can fly at a tremendous speed and stay in the air for several hours, looking for prey below. The eagle eye can see even a small mouse from afar. Children can embody this predator on paper in the process of drawing.

What you will need for the job

The eagle is present on the flags of many countries. Our country has not ignored it either, placing it on its coat of arms. However, the two-headed variety of this bird is a mythical creature.

This bird has always been and remains a symbol:

heights of spirit;
genuine courage;
readiness to overcome any difficulties;
fearlessness and indomitable strength.

The eagle (a drawing for children can be done independently) is distinguished by a wide wingspan. They require careful elaboration when depicting, like the beak and eyes. After all, it is necessary to accurately convey the predatory appearance of this bird.

Before you start drawing an eagle, you need to prepare materials and tools for creative work:

Simple drawing

Before you begin the creative process, it is recommended to carefully examine other drawings or photographs of an eagle. It is important to pay attention to how its body, beak, eyes, and feather color are arranged. The more detailed the idea of this bird is, the better and more realistic the drawing will be.

After looking at the photographs, placing a sheet of paper in front of you and taking a simple pencil in your hand, you can start drawing.

The work will take place in the following stages:

At the top of the sheet, at approximately the same distance from the right and left edges, draw the beak. It is worth remembering the features of this part of the body - hook-shaped, curved downwards. It is also important to remember that the eagle's beak is quite high.

Work at this stage should be done without pressing hard on the pencil. The line should be barely noticeable. This is necessary so that any mistake can be easily corrected: for example, to remove an extra line. The thinner it is, the better it will yield to the eraser.

From the beak to the left side, draw a smooth line that will become the outline of the head. When drawing it, first you need to rise a little from the beak, and then start going down to the neck.
Draw a smooth line down from the bottom of the beak, showing the convexity of the chest. Draw the wing from above at this stage. At this stage, it should be represented by an arc line, similar to a hook and a little bit to a question mark. This line should connect with the outline of the head drawn at the previous stage.
Draw the back of the wing and the paws. This is done by drawing zigzag lines that will show the bird's plumage.
Finish drawing the wing. To do this, draw a smooth line along the chest, which should end behind the wing. At the same time, you need to depict 2 zigzags that will show the plumage.

Finish drawing the legs, remembering that they should be massive and powerful, and they should have strong claws. Do not forget that eagle paws should have feathers up to the toes.
Finish drawing the tail. It is of medium length and is rounded at the back.
Draw the claws - a formidable weapon of this flying feathered predator. Above the beak, depict the eye. Although the eagle has a keen eye, it is not very large. You can depict it as a small circle. Above the lower line of the beak, draw another line that will exactly repeat it.
Erase unnecessary lines and re-draw the outline with a simple pencil to make it more distinct.

Detailed drawing

Eagle (a drawing for children can be done in detail) can be depicted in detail on paper by completing the following steps:

Draw an arced line with a depression in the center. This will be the basis for the edges of the eagle's wings.

From the center of the arc, draw an oval that will tilt slightly to the right. It will serve as the outline of the body. The extreme right point of this oval should be located approximately under the middle of the right arc of the wing. It is very important to remember this rule and follow it, otherwise the drawing will be disproportionate, ugly and completely unlike an eagle.
Draw the wings, tail and head, first drawing their approximate shape. The first element drawn should be a small circle located in the center of the arc of the wings. Then from the middle of the oval on the left, draw an arc line to the end of the top line, leaving a little free space between them.
Do the same with the right wing, only the lower arc line should be longer than the upper one.
Add a couple of rounded lines to the right of the oval. This will be the tail.
Draw the shape of the body. Along the upper left part of the wing arc, draw another line, which should be a little longer. Do the same with the right wing.
In the middle of the new line you need to draw a bump.

To the left of the head, depict a hook-shaped eagle beak.
Draw an arced line that will separate the neck from the body.
Draw a line that will become the lower outline of the tail.
Refine all contours and remove excess with an eraser.
At the bottom of the body, mark the points where the legs will be located.
Using the initial markings of the wings as a guide, draw several long feathers on one side and the other.
Draw the outline of the beak. Draw something like a "hook" a little to the right of it. This will be the initial outline of the eagle's keen eye.

Finish working with the wings. Use a zigzag to highlight all the feathers – both in the wings and in the tail. After that, you need to divide the area of each wing into several parts. The lower part of the wing should have the largest size. Similarly, you need to depict the tail feathers. At this stage, put a small circle in the eye contour and draw a short straight line from it to the right.
Work on the shadows. To do this, shade the drawing using soft pencils. It is better to take more pencils with different degrees of softness. The eagle's wings should be almost black; only occasionally should you leave narrow gaps in them. These elements will highlight the feathers, which seem to shimmer in the sunlight.
Draw small feathers on the bird's head.

If everything was done correctly, the result will be a great-looking drawing. However, it can be supplemented by drawing mountains and sky in the background with colored pencils. The mountains, for example, can be dark blue with white, snow-covered tops. The sky is blue. You can add an orange sun and a few snow-white fluffy clouds.

Soaring Eagle

The eagle looks very beautiful when it is about to take off. It flaps its wings, but its feet have not yet left the ground. Children can cope with drawing a bird in this pose.

The work takes place in the following stages:

Make the sketches that will be needed for the future eagle. First, you need to draw a circle on the left side of the paper at approximately equal distances from its upper and lower edges.
Touching the circle just drawn, draw another circle to the right of it. It should be about 3 times larger in size. This will be the body.
After the 2 circles are drawn, start sketching the outline of the eagle. This includes the thighs, paws, wings and tail.
To the right of the large circle, draw a long semi-oval. A couple more semi-ovals should extend downwards from it. These will be the hips. Under them are the hook-shaped paws. The tail, which will be located to the right, should also have the shape of a semi-oval.
The eagle's wings will be the largest in area, because the bird, getting ready to take off, flaps them widely. The left wing is closer to the viewer, so it will be larger. It is a huge semicircle, turning into a wavy line at the top, which goes down to the body.

Make the right wing a little smaller, because it is a little further from the viewer. In addition, it is partially overlapped by the left wing.
Draw the eagle's head. Its border will be marked by a line starting from the end of the left wing, smoothly passing through the round contour of the head, simultaneously turning 180^O and then along the lower part of the body, rushing to the upper part of the hips. As soon as this line is drawn, draw the eagle's beak. It, like the paws, has a hook-shaped form.
Draw the beak in detail. The bird should also have a small eye, represented as a circle.
Draw the plumage. It is important to remember that the feathers should be drawn on the back of the thighs. When the plumage appears, begin drawing the clawed paws extended from the shin.
Add small detailed lines in the head and body areas. They will make the drawing more voluminous and realistic.
Proceed to drawing the wings and tail. There should be numerous feathers along the edges of the wings. As a result, these parts of the eagle's body should look like a fan.

Draw the tail. Its feathers should be larger.
Once the work on drawing the feathers of the wings and tail is completed, start drawing the stump on which the eagle is located. It is something similar to a square, with rounded corners. It is from this stump that the bird pushes off, trying to fly.
Outline the right wing. Here you need to add plumage. This is done in the same way as in the case of the left wing, which was worked on in the previous stage. However, it is necessary to keep in mind that the feathers along the edges here will be smaller, because this wing is located a little further from the viewer.
Draw the final touches in the area of the paws, and also draw the stump in more detail. Add a couple of vertical dotted lines to it.
Draw several random dotted lines on the eagle's body, thereby depicting its plumage.
Take an eraser and remove unnecessary details. As a rule, the first to be removed will be the contour lines that were drawn at the first stage of the entire work on drawing an eagle taking off from a stump.

Carefully color the drawing using colored pencils. As a rule, the eagle's body and wing plumage are black. The head can be made white, and the beak - orange. The stump on which the bird sits is brown.

Cartoon eagle

An eagle (a cartoon version of a drawing for children will be most relevant) can be depicted on paper in the form of a bright cartoon eaglet.

This version of the drawing will be completed in the following stages:

Make a sketch. Draw 2 ovals. One of them should be at the top of the sheet. This will be the bird's head, the other oval is slightly lower. This will be the body. Both of them are connected by a short line - the prototype of the future neck.

Along the upper oval - from its left edge to the right - draw an almost horizontal line. It should be slightly rounded, as if pressing downwards.

Draw the outline of the top of the head. There should be a crest on the top of the head, represented by a pair of feathers in the form of elongated semi-ovals.
Draw a beak. It looks like half an egg. It should be on the right side of the head.
Draw the eyes. They are also oval in shape. Only the right eye of the bird is fully visible. The left one will be hidden behind the beak. In addition, part of it will be on the side of the head that is not visible to the viewer.

As a result, the left eye will be represented by a short line starting from the top of the beak, going slightly to the right and up and ending at the contour line of the head.

Draw the lower part of the bird. Draw the outline of the chest, which starts from the beak, goes along the right edge of the lower oval and ends at the bottom of the oval.
Draw the outline of the back. It starts on the left at the bottom of the head, goes to the left and down, and ends at a point a few centimeters away from the lower oval – from the body.

Draw the wing. It should be located in the middle between the chest contour and the back contour. Its shape resembles a huge drop, its sharp edge connects with the back contour at its lowest point. Draw at least 2-3 feathers on the wing.
Draw the bird's hips and also draw a line that will separate the body and head. The hips are located at the bottom, under the body. These are 2 semi-ovals. The line that separates the head and body simply passes over the wing from the back contour to the chest contour. It should be wavy.
Draw the eagle's paws - 1 under each thigh. This cartoon eagle can have 3 toes on its paws.
Using an eraser, remove all unnecessary lines. This applies, first of all, to the details of the sketch, which was done at the earliest stage of work.
Once the unnecessary lines have been removed and only the outline of the cartoon bird remains, you can begin coloring it.

To color the image you will need the following colors:

white - the head is painted with it;
blue - the eyes will be;
blue - pupils;
orange - beak and paws;
light brown – the front part of the body;
dark brown – the rest of the body.

There may also be a few darker brown spots on the surface.

To make the drawing complete, you can add a background:

blue sky;
white clouds;
green trees

You don't need any special tools to draw an eagle. All you need is a simple pencil, an eraser, and a sheet of paper. This will be enough for beginner artists and children. You can also use colored pencils or markers for coloring. As a result, the drawing will be as majestic as the wingspan of this giant bird of prey.
