How to Make Fake Blood at Home That Looks Like Real Blood

At home, you can make a liquid that will resemble human blood not only in color but also in consistency. For this purpose, you can use food products, or you can mix non-toxic chemical compounds.

 

You should be careful with them. They are not always suitable for applying to the skin, much less tasting. Most often, such recipes are intended for making blood, which is used as clothing decoration or props.

Before you begin to get acquainted with recipes for preparing blood, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules for its use:

• Almost all types of fake blood are difficult to remove from fabric, as well as from wood, concrete and enamel-painted surfaces.

If you plan to splash and smear liquid, you need to prepare the room: cover surfaces that are prone to absorption with film, and also apply paraffin to the fabric so that the paint does not leave marks.

• The stains will remain on light-colored items, but will wash out of dark fabrics and jeans.

What ingredients are needed, in what quantities:

• corn syrup – 250 ml;
• corn starch – 1 g;
• berry juice – 150 ml;
• red food coloring – 2 tbsp;
• cocoa powder – 30 g.

Cooking process:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender bowl and blend at maximum speed for about 40 seconds. You can divide the mixing process into 2 parts (20 seconds each) so that the mass becomes a homogeneous consistency. If you do not have a blender, you can use a food processor or mixer.
2. Open the blender lid. Scoop up some blood into a spoon and assess the color accuracy. To make it easier to see, pour some liquid onto a white paper napkin.
3. If the shade is light, you need to add more cocoa powder. If the color of the blood is too dark, you will need to add a few more drops of corn syrup and 5-10 g of starch.
4. Blend the blood again.

If the liquid turns out to be runny, you can thicken it by adding cornstarch. However, it has the property of lightening the dye, so after mixing, you need to evaluate the color saturation again and add a few drops of paint if necessary.

From maple syrup

List of ingredients:

• maple syrup – 1 tbsp;
• red food coloring – 1 tsp;
• blue dye – 3-4 drops;
• corn starch – 30 g.

Maple syrup has a brownish-red hue and a viscous consistency. Therefore, it will not be difficult to color it, and cornstarch, which is used as a thickener, may not be required.

Cooking process:

1. Pour the syrup into a clean bowl.
2. Add red dye. The speed of mixing the ingredients depends on the thickness of the syrup. The thicker its consistency, the more intensively you should mix. The dye may begin to form droplets. To break them up and achieve a uniform color, you need high speed. You can use a mixer.
3. When the color is red, add a few drops of blue. Continue mixing vigorously.
4. The result should be a red consistency with a purple tint. Use a spoon to check the thickness of the liquid. If the blood flows down quickly, you will need to add cornstarch.

Corn starch can be replaced with potato starch, but then you will need less of it. It should be poured in half a teaspoon at a time, in a thin stream, without stopping to mix the ingredients.

When the artificial blood has reached the desired thickness, you should check the color saturation by dropping the liquid onto a white napkin. If the shade is too bright, you should add 1-2 drops of blue dye, if the color is dark, you will need 2-3 drops of red dye.

Chocolate "blood"

List of ingredients:

• confectionery chocolate syrup – 1.5 tbsp.;
• sugar syrup – 3 tbsp;
• corn starch – 30 g;
• red food coloring – 1 tsp;
• blue dye – 3-4 drops.

Cooking process:

• Pour sugar syrup into a bowl.
• Add red dye. Stir the liquid well until it acquires a uniform shade. If there is not enough dye, you can add a few more drops. The dye may collect in drops.

In this case, you can use a whisk to stir. It will break up all the particles and help mix the ingredients faster. To prevent drops from forming, you can dilute the helium dye with warm water.

• Add blue dye. Mix well. After mixing, the blood may seem too dark, almost black, but this is not true. If you drop the liquid on your hand, it will spread, leaving scarlet marks behind.

• Add chocolate sauce. It is needed to give the liquid a more saturated and realistic color. It will turn out dark red, like human venous blood.
• Pour in the starch. It is advisable to pour it in a thin stream so as not to add too much.
• The starch will make the liquid a little lighter, so you may need a few drops of red and blue food coloring to bring back the depth of color.

Gelatinous

Artificial blood (it is advisable to use the prepared liquid immediately, before it hardens), created on the basis of gelatin, is suitable for creating smudges that will become part of the makeup.

• distilled water – 1 l;
• gelatin – 35 g;
• red food coloring – 1 tsp;
• blue food coloring – 2-3 drops;
• green food coloring – 1-2 drops.

Cooking process:

1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Pour gelatin into the pan in a thin stream. While combining the ingredients, stir the water with a spoon to avoid gelatin lumps.
3. The liquid should be slightly thinner than sour cream. Add red dye. Stir.
4. Add 2 drops of blue and 1 drop of green dye. Stir the liquid until the color is uniform.
5. Before the mixture starts to harden, you need to carefully examine the resulting shade. If you need to change it, you should add a few more drops of paint. To get a brighter tone, you need red. To make the blood a little darker, you need to add blue dye.

The blood should be applied to the skin when it has cooled to 30 degrees.

From peanut butter

List of ingredients:

• peanut butter – 1 tbsp;
• corn syrup – 1 tbsp;
• red food coloring – 1 tsp;

4. Add dye to the mixture. Stir until a uniform color is obtained.
5. Add cocoa powder. Stir the mixture again.

Inedible Blood Recipes
