A spectacular competition between two athletes, boxing promotes health, but can also have consequences in the form of bruises, contusions, soft tissue tears or fractures. Sometimes it is better not to rush into the ring, but take a paper and pencil and draw equipment designed for boxing. For example, special gloves that are not available in any other sport.
Pencil drawing
Boxing gloves hanging on a rope can be drawn with pencil in the following steps:
No. | Stage | Description |
1 | Make a sketch | Since this type of uniform is bulky, it should be demonstrated in a drawing. To do this you need: 1. Draw 2 circles: 1 should be located slightly above and slightly to the left of the 2nd. 2. Draw 1 rectangle above each circle. They are approximately 3 times smaller in size than the circles. It is not necessary to measure the area of each figure precisely. The sizes can be determined by eye. At the initial stage, you do not need to press hard on the pencil. The lines should be light and thin. In this case, the person drawing will have the opportunity to correct mistakes. In addition, some lines will be auxiliary, and they will have to be removed at the next stages using an eraser. |
2 | Complete geometric shapes | The drawn figures need to be processed so that they become more like real boxer gloves. To do this, you need to:
1. Trace them along the contour and draw a short line separating the thumbs. 2. In the upper part of the drawing, make a sketch of the lacing on which the pair of gloves is suspended. To do this, it is enough to draw one straight thin line upwards from each rectangle. These lines should be at a slight angle – so that they connect at the top point. 3. Draw a knot at the junction of the dots. To do this, simply draw a couple of small elongated ovals that look like flower petals. 4. Place a small end of string hanging down between the ovals. |
3 | To give the drawing a clean and neat look | To do this you should:
1. Draw out the gloves with dark and clear lines. 2. Increase the thickness of the lacing. |
4 | Detail gloves | The surface of the gloves must have seams and folds.
To display them you need: 1. Start the seam line at the top, then draw it along the side of the gloves, rounding at the bottom and returning it back up, but on the other side. 2. Draw several short straight and curved lines on the gloves to indicate folds. All these lines, including the seam, are present on the glove that is facing the viewer with its palm. The other glove, facing the opposite direction, will seem smoother, almost devoid of lines and folds. They are present here, but in small quantities. Most of the folds are concentrated near the line that separates the thumb from the main part of the glove. |
5 | Add shadows | At this stage, it is necessary to take into account the angle at which the light falls. The shadow should be shown with strokes. At the same time, shading performs another function – giving volume and realism. |
Ready.
Black and white drawing
A simple pencil is convenient for drawing black and white pictures.
For example, to draw boxing gloves you should:
- Draw 2 circles next to each other. One circle can go slightly behind the other. These will be the main parts of both gloves. It is better to place 1 of the circles slightly higher: it will look prettier.
- Above each circle, draw 2 figures that look like squares. However, their difference from real squares is that they do not have corners. The lines where the corners should be are smoothly rounded, the sides of such squares are also smooth. If everything is done correctly, then each glove blank will look like a mushroom turned upside down.
Boxing gloves drawing step by step with a pencil. - Add a couple of lines that will represent the lacing. Each line starts from the glove, goes up at a slight angle, and ends at the top point. Both lines end at one common point. This point will be the nail on which the gloves are hung.
- Add elements to the top and bottom of both gloves.
On the left glove, with the palm facing the viewer, the thumb should be clearly visible. It is depicted as an incomplete oval. On those parts of the gloves that are located on the boxer's wrists, use small squares to indicate the place where the laces will be. - Draw 2 more lines starting from the gloves and ending at the common intersection point at the top.
- Add a few lines to the surface of the gloves to give volume to the whole drawing. These lines should be smooth.
- Draw several lines of laces located on the wrists. The ends of the laces should be located on top and hang down.
- Delete all unnecessary auxiliary lines that were drawn in stage 1.
Ready.
Color
Boxing gloves, the drawing of which will be colored, are first depicted with a simple pencil. With its help it is necessary to make contours. Coloring with the selected color or several colors will be the final stage of the whole work.
Drawing is performed in the following stages:
- Draw several simple geometric figures that will become auxiliary elements. The total number of figures that will be needed for further work is 5. At the top of the sheet of paper, 3 circles should be drawn, 1 large circle on the right, and the 2nd large circle on the left. There should be a small circle in the left large circle. At the bottom of the sheet, draw a pair of quadrangles. One of these quadrangles is under the left circle, and the other is under the right.
- All the drawn auxiliary geometric figures are connected into one whole. This is done with the help of smooth lines. The circles should be connected to the quadrangles: the left circle – to the left quadrangle, and the right – to the right. The small circle located in the left large circle should also be connected to the quadrangle located below, but with 1 line.
- Add volume to the lower part of the gloves using a multitude of smooth, arced lines.
- Remove all unnecessary lines that will no longer be needed. To do this, use the eraser.
- Add folds to the surface of the gloves. It is enough to draw several short uneven lines. The folds that form on the edges of the gloves are most visible.
- Decorate the gloves. Boxing gloves can have any color and any pattern on the surface. It can be an emblem, an inscription, a picture, a word. The decoration can also be located anywhere. You can make the gloves one-color. The most common color is red, but they can also be blue, yellow, green, and beige.
Boxing gloves and punching bag
To become a professional boxer, gloves alone are not enough. You will also need a punching bag that can take the most powerful blows. Drawing this sports equipment is no more difficult than the gloves themselves.
Boxing gloves, the design of which will be together with the image of a punching bag, go through the following 4 stages:
No. | Stage | Description |
1 | Do a light sketch | It can be represented by a simple rectangle, stretched up and down. The contour lines should be very light, there is no need to press hard on the pencil. |
2 | Draw the top and bottom of the pear | It is better to start from the bottom, because everything is simple here: it is enough to draw an arc line coming out from the lower left corner and ending in the lower right corner. As a result, the lower part of the pear will acquire smooth round outlines. A similar line, but directed in the opposite direction, should be drawn at the top. This line should start in the upper left corner and end in the upper right. There should also be several lines at the top to represent the rope that the pear is suspended on. You can draw 4 lines, each starting from the pear itself, going up at a slight angle and connecting to all the others at 1 point. The point where all the lines connect should be located in the center above the pear. It is from here that another line starts, which goes up vertically and rushes to the top edge of the paper sheet. |
3 | Pull out the pear | For this purpose, dark and clear lines are used. As a result, the sports equipment will be clearer and more beautiful. |
4 | Apply shadows | This is done with the help of hatching. The drawing of a punching bag can be painted in any color that the artist deems necessary, and also supplemented with the boxing gloves themselves. They can be drawn hanging on the left or right. |
Ready.
Other options for children
Boxing gloves, the drawing of which can be done by children, are often depicted on the hands of a boxer. It will be difficult for a child to draw a full-fledged person, especially the details of the face and other parts of the body, but he can do the silhouette of an athlete.
Valuev
An athlete similar to the famous boxer Nikolai Valuev can be drawn by following these steps:
- Draw the form in which the famous boxer will be placed.
To do this, draw 3 ovals at the top of the sheet. 2 of them - the larger ones - should be located on the left and right sides of the sheet. Between these 2 ovals is the 3rd - the smaller one.
The left and right ovals are the boxer's future arms, and the central oval is the strong head. - Draw the outline of the boxer's body below the ovals. To do this, just draw a few lines.
- Add facial contours to an athlete ready to rush into battle, and "put on" gloves on his hands. It is important not to forget that a boxer wears a belt.
- Carefully draw parts of the face, as well as the torso and upper limbs.
- Remove unnecessary lines, outline the contours and add strokes that will give the boxer realism.
Ready.
Another boxer
Another version of the boxer can be drawn as follows:
No. | Stage | Description |
1 | Make a sketch | It will be represented by simple circles and lines. The proportions of the body of the boxer, who will appear on paper in front of the artist, are devoid of any features. This is an ordinary person, distinguished only by physical development. However, special attention should be paid to his pose: this is a side stance, characteristic of every boxer, while the athlete must tuck his chin to his shoulder. His upper limbs, on which gloves are worn, should have an expressive position. One hand tries to protect the head from a sudden blow from the opponent, and the other is cocked like a trigger. |
2 | Trace the sketch | The sketch created from lines and circles must be outlined so that rounded volumetric figures are obtained. This is how the silhouette of the athlete will be created. First, it is necessary to outline the line of the eyes, then depict the neck, which will be represented by a low cylinder. Next, you need to outline the arms, using circles for this. The deltoid muscle should be located here, which has the shape of a circle. The shoulder and forearm should be indicated by cylinders. Using rounded lines, draw a glove on each hand. The boxer's torso can be indicated by a figure similar to a simple rectangle, differing from it only in that its sides are smoothly curved. |
3 | Jump to the bottom of the drawing | It is necessary to draw the bottom of the body, which can be represented by a triangle. Then the shins and thighs are depicted as cylinders. In this case, the thighs should be made such that their width gradually decreases towards the knee. The shins should have a characteristic bend of the calf muscle. The figure of the boxer is ready, and now the artist can safely move on to the next stage. |
4 | Detail the drawing | There will be few details, because in this lesson the emphasis is on constructing the human figure. It is necessary to outline: · the main parts of the face, using the markings from the previous stage; · long shorts; · shoes with long laces. Outline the muscle contours on the upper limbs and chest, then erase all the extra lines that were drawn earlier. |
Graphics
Boxing gloves (the design can be done with various writing instruments) can be depicted using a gel pen or marker.
To do this you need:
- Start not with circles and ovals, but right from the finger of the first glove - the one with the palm facing the viewer. To do this, draw a line that looks like a hook. A short, curved line extends downwards from the tip of the finger. To the left and below the finger, a longer, smooth line begins, which extends to the right. It marks the lower edge of the glove. At the top, slightly to the right of the tip of the finger, a vertical strip with lacing begins. It extends upwards. The end of the lace comes out of the upper part of this strip.
- Draw some folds on the thumb and the main part of the glove. Also draw a rectangle at the top of the glove and some horizontal stripes inside it. This will be the wrist.
- The second glove, which faces the other side, can be drawn starting from the wrist. It should also be represented by a rectangle with several horizontal stripes. From the lower left corner of the rectangle, a diagonal line extends, directed downwards and to the left and rounded like a hook. This is the finger. Next, draw the edges of the main part of this glove with simple lines and complement its surface with several folds.
- Draw the cord on which the gloves are suspended. This is done using the same principle as in the examples given above.
Realism
The main thing to remember when creating a drawing that is as close to reality as possible is that each glove consists of 3 main elements.
Namely:
- the main part, designed for the 4 fingers of a boxer;
- the part intended for the thumb;
- the part of the glove that envelops the wrist.
Since the gloves are made of a smooth material, there are glares on their surface. This must be taken into account when creating a realistic image. There are also shaded areas on the surface. They should be indicated with light strokes. There are folds along the edges of the gloves. Most of them are near the thumb.
Don't forget about the lacing either: the strips with laces are located on the palm side.
Boxer's gloves can be drawn with one simple pencil. If you want to make them colorful and bright, you can use any colors for coloring. They can be blue, red or green. It is not necessary to make them one color. There can be various drawings or symbols on their surface.
If you want to have creative interaction with your child, you can draw the outline of the boxing gloves with a marker, without coloring or shading. This way, the young artist can make his own version.
