For work, you should prepare 650 g of semi-woolen melange threads (230 m per 100 g) in pastel shades and knitting needles No. 5 of two types - stocking and straight. The model is made with the front surface, and the edge, called "knotted", is formed by knitting all the outer loops with the front ones.

The cardigan consists of one piece of fabric, knitted from the bottom up:

1. Having cast on 224 sts and knitted 1 purl row, alternating front and back, you should move on to the front surface, not forgetting about the “knotted” edge.
2. Make armholes at 63 cm, distributing the loops as follows: 80, 64, 80. The edge sts of the armholes are also finished with a knotted edge.
3. After 20 cm, connect the loops.
   
4. Having knitted 100 cm, finish the piece from the wrong side. The last row should be the same as at the beginning of the work.
5. The sleeve should be knitted on double-pointed needles in a circle, casting on 40 sts and starting with a purl row.
6. In every 6th row, add loops 12 times, knitting 2 sts from the second and penultimate loops corresponding to the row. Having knitted 55 cm in length, finish the details.
7. Assemble the garment by sewing on the sleeves.

Garter stitch

Women's cardigan, knitted with knitting needles, the diagrams and description of which are given below, is made with garter stitch (all rows are knitted). Calculations and description are intended for size 36/38. The drawing also provides data for sizes 40/42, 44/46 and 48.

You need to buy yarn that contains alpaca, mohair and polyamide, 90 m per 100 g:

• 400 g light beige;
• 250 g pale blue;
• 200 g light pink.

You will also need straight and circular knitting needles No. 7, 5 large buttons (approximately 3 cm in diameter).

The cardigan should be knitted from the side along the arrows in the diagrams:

1. For the back, cast on 48 sts and start working from the right side, alternating stripes: 6 rows of light beige, 4 rows of pale blue, 6 rows of light beige, 4 rows of light pink thread.
2. To shape the edge of the shoulder on the right side, increase 1 st twice in every 8th row, and then 4 times in every 6th row.
3. Having knitted 13 cm, perform the decreases in reverse order. There should be 48 sts left on the needles, which should be closed.
4. The shelves are made symmetrically, observing the previously determined alternation of colors. For work, 48 sts are also cast on. The shoulders are knitted in the same way as on the back piece.
5. To create the front neckline, close 2 sts at a height of 24 cm, then 1 st 4 times every other row.
6. The front part strips are made with a rib pattern alternating 2 front and 2 back. The alternation of stripes is 2 rows of pale blue and light pink thread. The width of the strip is 6 cm.
7. Each sleeve is knitted 40 sts straight. The stripes on the sleeves should be knitted in the same sequence as on the other parts.
8. The collar is made with garter stitch with alternating colored stripes, like the other parts. Cast on 14 sts with light beige thread, knit 38 rows and set the work aside without closing the loops. Knit and set aside the second half of the collar in the same way.
9. The assembly of the cardigan should begin with the shoulder seams. The open loops of the collar halves are connected with a knitted seam, then the collar is sewn to the product.
10. For the sleeves, cast on 26 sts with a light blue thread and, starting with a purl row, knit 7 rows with a rib pattern. Alternate the colored stripes, following the sequence on the shelves. Knit alternately 2 front and 2 back loops. At the beginning and end of the rows after and before the edge ones, you need to knit one back loop.
11. Sew in the sleeve pieces, then sew them along the seam and connect the sides of the cardigan.
12. Decorate the bottom edge with an elastic band.
13. Sew buttons along the edge of the shelves.

Openwork cardigan

Women's cardigan, knitted with knitting needles, the patterns for which are presented below, is intended for wearing in the warm season. The calculation of threads and the pattern are intended for sizes 40-42.

To work you need to select:

• 650 g of plain cotton threads, 220 m per 100 g;
• knitting needles No. 3.5;
• hook No. 3;
• 6 buttons.

The number of loops should be a multiple of 18 + 2 edge loops + 1 st. Purl rows should be knitted according to the pattern, and yarn overs – with purl loops.

The sequence of knitting each row is as follows:

• edge;
• repeating the rapport the required number of times;
• 1 persons. p. after the last rapport;
• chrome.

The openwork pattern is created by repeating rows in a certain order:

• 1 time – 1-18 p.;
• 4 times – 19-34 p.;
• 35th and 36th row;
• 21 times – 37th and 38th row;
• 39th and 40th row;
• 41-56 rows repeat until finished.

The work should be carried out according to the description provided:

1. Knit the back piece straight, casting on 111 stitches. After 56 cm, close the outer stitches of every second row in the following order: 5, 2 times 2 and 3 times 1.
2. Having knitted 78 cm, start forming the shoulder slopes and neck line. To do this, close 6 sts of the outer loops and 13 sts in the center. After that, in every 2nd row, decrease 5 sts twice along the edges of the neck opening. At the same time, close 7 sts three times along the shoulders in every second row. When the length of the piece reaches 80 cm, finish the work.
3. Knit the left front piece with openwork on 57 loops, shaping all the contours on the right according to the description of the back piece.
4. For a U-shaped neckline, after 58 cm, make 18 decreases on the right in the 2nd and 4th rows in turn, knitting together 3-4 sts from the end of the row with knit stitches.
5. On the other hand, decreases should be done by pulling through the 3rd and 4th loops to the right of the start. To do the pulling through, the 3rd st should be slipped as a knit stitch, the next one knitted as a knit stitch, and then pulled through the previous 3rd loop.
6. Each sleeve is made on 47 loops. The knitting sequence according to the pattern is as follows: edge, from arrow A to the end of the rapport, whole rapport, from the beginning of the rapport to arrow B, edge. Having knitted 1-18 rows, then repeat 19-34 rows until the end of the work. To increase the width of the upper half of the sleeve, in the process of work, it is necessary to perform 16 increases of 1 st on both sides.
7. Shape the armhole after 39 cm, decreasing the outer loops on both sides: 1 time 4, 2 times 2, 11 times 1, 2 times 2 and 3 loops. Finish the work at a height of 53 cm.
8. Sew the cardigan parts together in sequence: first the shoulders, then the sleeves. Lastly, join the seams on the sides and sleeves.
9. Crochet the edges, tying them with single crochet stitches in 2 rows, and finish with a row of “crayfish step”. On the right half of the front, knit 6 loops, making 1 air loop over the column in the 2nd row.

To finish the work, attach 6 buttons along the left side.

With a hood

The cardigan is knitted with a simple but effective pattern. Not only experienced needlewomen, but also women who have recently picked up knitting needles will be able to understand the pattern for this model. You will need 2 types of yarn: 350 g of plain wool (180 m per 100 g) and 200 g of melange cotton (230 m per 100 g).

You will also need 3 sets of knitting needles:

• No. 5;
• No. 5.5;
• auxiliary.

The pattern with removed loops should be knitted according to the presented diagram, in which the letter A indicates a single-color thread, and the letter B indicates a melange thread.

The description of the work is given for creating a model of size 38:

1. Cast on 102 sts with melange yarn on 5.5 mm knitting needles. Start knitting the back, making a 2.5 cm wide strip with purl stitch. Then knit 4 cm with the pattern shown.
2. For bevels, close 1 st on both sides 10 times in each 6 rows.
3. Having knitted 28.5 cm, you can move on to forming the dropped elongated shoulder. To do this, cast on loops on the sides again in the following order: 1 time by 1, 2 times by 1 in each 4th row, 5 times by 1 in each 2nd row, 3 times by 2, 1 time by 6.
4. After 52 cm from the strip, knit 2 rows of purl stitch with melange thread and 1 row of knit stitch with plain thread. Set the work aside on an additional knitting needle.
5. To create the left half of the front, cast on 52 sts with a melange thread on knitting needles No. 5.5 and knit the same strip as on the back. Continue with the pattern of the removed loops according to the diagram. All decreases and increases of loops, and the upper strip are performed in the same way as on the back. Transfer the unclosed loops to an additional knitting needle.
6. The right half of the front should be knitted similarly to the left. It is necessary to take into account that the pattern of the removed loops should be knitted from the arrow on the diagram after the edge.
7. For the sleeves, cast on 42 sts with a single-color thread on size 5 knitting needles. Knit 12.5 cm with a 2 knit/2 purl rib pattern.
8. Next, switch to the pattern of removed loops, starting with the 9th row. After the 12th row, repeat the rapport upwards, starting with the 1st row. At the same time, widen the sleeve by adding 1 loop at the edges. Make the first increase in the 10th row from the strip, then add 5 times in every 10th row. Having knitted 22.5 cm after the strip, finish with three rows as on the other parts and close the last purl row with purl stitches.
9. Sew the cardigan along the shoulders, joining 46 sts with a knitted seam on each side.
10. Transfer the previously set aside neck loops (16+30+16) to circular knitting needles No. 5.5 and knit the hood using the main pattern. Start from the back, marking 2 loops in the center of the back and knitting 1 st on both sides of them 5 times in every 2nd row. After 32 cm, make 5 decreases of 1 st in every 2nd row, knitting the 2 middle loops with the front loops together with the previous and next loop. The second loop should be knitted with a left tilt, removing and pulling it through the next loop, knitted with the front loop. After 35 cm, knit 3 final rows, as on the other parts.
11. Join the edges of the hood by knitting the open loops together with the front loops from the wrong side of the piece.
12. To complete the work, you need to sew all the details of the cardigan. Bind the edges with 5 rows of purl stitch with melange thread. Close the loops, and hem the edge of the strip inside.
13. Sew on 4 buttons with a diameter of 2.5 cm at equal distances from each other.

With braids

Women's cardigan, knitted with knitting needles (patterns included), complemented by wide braids on the back and shelves. Designations on the pattern are given for sizes 38-40-42-44-46.

To knit this model, you will need 1 kg of thick yarn (130 m = 100 g) and knitting needles with a diameter of 5.5 cm.

The strips should be knitted with a rib pattern, alternating 1 front and purl loop. The main fabric is made with a pearl pattern, which consists of an odd number of loops excluding the edge loops. In the 1st row, front and purl loops are alternated. The 2nd row is knitted according to the pattern. In the 3rd row, front and purl loops are swapped, and the 4th row is knitted like the 2nd, that is, the order of loop alternation is changed again. Then the sequence of four rows is constantly repeated. The braid is knitted on 22 loops according to the given pattern. The first time, knit from the 1st to the 22nd row, and then repeat 3 - 22 rows.

To knit a cardigan of size 38, you need to follow the diagram and description below:

1. For the back, cast on 91 sts and knit 4 cm with a rib pattern, then switch to a pearl pattern. At the same time, knit a braid on the middle 21 + 1 sts (see diagram). After knitting 20 cm, make decreases on both sides. To do this, knit together every 6-8 sts from the beginning and end of the row according to the pattern (front or back). In total, you need to make 4 such decreases at a distance of 8 cm from each other. In the same way, decrease the loops for the armholes, knitting 3 sts together at the beginning of the row after the edge and at the end of the row before the edge. Make decreases in the following sequence: 1 time - 2 decreases, 3 times - 2 decreases in every 4th row. On the remaining loops, knit 21 cm of fabric in a straight line. To form the shoulder lines, close 13 sts along the edges, and leave the middle loops on an additional knitting needle.
2. The shelves should be knitted in the same way as the back, casting on 52 sts for each of them. From the armhole side there should be 15 sts of the main pattern before the “braid”, and after it – 16 sts. For the shoulders, close 17 sts, and put aside the remaining 20 sts.
3. For the sleeves, cast on 41 sts and, having knitted 4 cm with a rib pattern, switch to a pearl pattern. At a distance of 16 cm from the beginning of the piece, make increases of 1 st: 4 times in each 6th row and 5 times in each 4th. At a height of 43 cm, start knitting the armhole, successively closing the sts on both sides at the beginning and end of the row, without touching the edge ones: 1 time by 2 sts, 5 times in each 2nd row by 1 st. Finish the piece at a height of 48 cm.
4. After joining the shoulder seams, you can start creating the hood based on the deferred loops. The braid will be located on the middle 22 loops, and the pearl pattern will be on the remaining loops before and after it. In the 1st row, you need to add 1 st from the yarn over on each side of the braid, including them in the main pattern. After knitting 2 rows, do 5 more increases in the same way in each 2nd row. When the length of the hood reaches 26 cm, close the 18 central loops of the braid, and continue to knit the side parts separately. After 4 cm, the open loops should be connected with a knitted seam, and the short edges should be sewn to the edge of the braid.
5. Next, you need to sew in the sleeves and connect the side parts of the cardigan. Sew 5 buttons to the left side, distributing them evenly along its length. On the right side, make hanging loops.

Long with belt

This model is made from 900 g acrylic yarn 230 m per 100 g with knitting needles No. 3. The calculations on the pattern correspond to size 52.

Up to the armhole, knit in one piece on type 229:

1. Knit 4 rows according to pattern No. 1.
2. Next, continue working according to pattern No. 2: edge, 1 front st, 1 purl st, 1 front st, 10 rapports, 1 front st, 1 purl st, 1 front st, edge.
3. Starting from the armhole (approximately 180 rows), it is necessary to divide the fabric into 3 parts, putting aside 77 middle sts for the back, and 60 sts for the shelves. Each part should be knitted separately.
4. To design the neckline on both shelves, perform 9 symmetrical decreases of 2 sts in each 2 rows.
5. Sleeve details are made according to pattern No. 2 on 59 sts, taking into account the edge sts.
6. For the collar, you need to cast on 110 sts along the edge of the neck and knit 60 rows according to pattern No. 1.
7. The belt and sleeve straps are also knitted according to pattern No. 1. For the belt, cast on 11 sts and knit 210 rows, and for the straps, it is enough to knit 40 rows on 5 sts.
8. All the details should be sewn together, and the ribbons should be threaded around the circumference of the lower part of the sleeves.

Transformer cardigan without buttons

A women's cardigan, knitted with knitting needles, the patterns of the details of which will be clear even to inexperienced knitters, is a multifunctional wardrobe item. The absence of a fastener allows you to drape it in different ways, creating new images. The model is made of thick cotton yarn (200 m / 100 g).

The pattern shows calculations for 3 sizes:

• 38-40 – 650 g;
• 42-44 – 700 g;
• 46-48 – 750 g.

The fabric is knitted with a pattern of an odd number of loops. In the front rows, all loops should be knitted in the front way, and in the back rows, you need to alternate 1 front / 1 out, starting and ending with a front one. All parts are knitted in a straight line.

The sleeves should be knitted from top to bottom, evenly decreasing 1 loop on both sides and checking the piece against the pattern.

Extended with three-quarter sleeves

To create a model of size 36-38 you will need 300 g (180 m/ 100 g) of mohair yarn and thick knitting needles No. 8.

The fabric should be knitted by alternating 10 rows of a semi-patent pattern of an odd number of loops and 8 rows of front surface.

In the 1st row, you need to knit the loops and yarn overs:

• 1 p. – alternation of 1 purl and 1 knit stitch.
• 2 p. – alternation of 1 knit and 1 stitch with a yarn over, removed as in purl knitting.
• 3 p. – alternation of 1 purl and 1 knit, knitted together with a yarn over.
• 4 p. – repeat the 2nd row.

Rows 1 through 4 should be knitted once, then repeat only rows 3 and 4. When knitting the parts, it is necessary to check the diagram.

Other models of cardigans for women and girls

Simple to make models can look very stylish and fresh thanks to non-trivial color solutions. The cardigan below is made of simple garter stitch.

An unusual effect can also be achieved by using a non-standard assembly of the simplest knitted parts. The model is made with a garter stitch. The corners of the knitted fabric should be folded and sewn as shown by the arrows in the diagram. The placket is knitted with an openwork pattern and sewn to the finished cardigan.
