Step by step instructions for drawing with a simple pencil
A crow is a drawing for children that can captivate a child while telling them about birds in the wild. To draw a crow with a simple pencil, it is advisable to use a pencil with a hard lead (type H).
Basic shapes and auxiliary lines
Drawing a crow should begin with drawing the main shapes, for which you need to do the following steps:
- In the center of the sheet, draw a circle with a diameter of 5 cm (the central part of the crow's body).
- Fix the pencil in the middle of the upper right part of the circle outline, and then from this point to the right and up draw a small circle, 3 cm in diameter (the outline of the head).
- Inside the head outline, draw an auxiliary horizontal line that divides it in half, and then draw a line perpendicular to it, which will also divide the head outline in half, but vertically.
- Around the circle of the crow's body, draw an oval in the shape of an egg, with its narrow part directed to the left and down. The upper part of the circle of the body should fit into the outline of this oval.
Beak, eyes and neck
At this stage, you need to draw the main parts of the crow's head as follows:
- Fix the pencil at the intersection of the horizontal auxiliary line and the right part of the head contour, and then draw a line to the right, 1.5 cm long (the lower part of the beak). This line should be slightly convex at the bottom.
- Fix the pencil in the middle of the right upper part of the head outline, and then draw a downward curved line to the right (the upper part of the beak), which should connect with the end of the lower part of the beak. The upper part of the beak should be curved noticeably more than its lower part.
- Draw a horizontal line between the top and bottom of the beak.
- In the center of the upper right part of the head, draw an eye in the form of a small circle, around which draw a small horizontal oval with pointed edges on the left and right.
- Draw the neck using two tangent lines to the head and body circles.
Wings, legs and tail
Drawing these parts consists of the following steps:
- Fix the pencil a little above the center of the body and draw a wing in the form of an elongated oval. The narrow part of this oval should be directed to the left. Then, inside the wing, draw several feathers in the form of small elongated semi-ovals, also directed to the left.
- Fix the pencil at the left extreme part of the wing and draw a line to the left, as a continuation of the upper part of the wing. Then you need to draw a line to the right to the lower part of the body. The result should be the outline of the crow's tail, which looks like an elongated triangle.
- Draw long feathers inside the tail outline in the form of elongated semi-ovals parallel to the tail outline.
- Fix the pencil at the bottom point of the body and draw two legs in the form of two parallel columns located at an angle of 45° relative to the vertical of the drawing.
Then, at the bottom of the legs, draw toes pointing to the right and left relative to the base of the legs. The length of the front toes should be longer than the length of the back toe. The thickness of the toes should be the same as the thickness of the legs themselves.
- Draw claws on the tips of the fingers.
- Apply shading all over the crow's body, keeping the wings and beak slightly lighter than the rest of the drawing.

The crow from the cartoon "The Return of the Prodigal Parrot" looks quite funny and is very popular with children. For this drawing you will need a sheet of paper, a set of colored pencils and an eraser.
The drawing process consists of the following stages:
- In the center of the sheet, draw a large oval in a vertical position (the outline of the body), and then in its upper part, draw another oval 3 times smaller in size (the outline of the head), but directed at an angle of 45° relative to the vertical of the large oval. The small oval should slightly cover the large oval from above.
- Fix the pencil in the middle of the upper part of the head contour and draw a long semi-oval to the left relative to the head. The end of the semi-oval should be pointed, its size should be 1.5 times larger than the size of the head, and its lower part should end at the bottom of the head contour. The result will be the upper part of the crow's beak.
- Fix the pencil in the middle of the lower part of the beak outline, and draw the second part of the beak in the form of a curved triangle, which should connect with the lower part of the head outline. Then you need to draw a line from the tip of the lower part of the beak, connecting it with the right lower end of the outline of the upper part of the beak.
- Erase with an eraser those parts of the head and body contour that are inside the beak contour.
- Inside the lower part of the beak, draw the tongue in the form of a curved semi-oval, pointing upwards.
- Place the pencil at the right edge of the top of the beak and draw a zigzag line down (in the shape of the letter S), thereby visually separating the beak from the head.
- At the top of the head, draw 2 eyes in the form of two small ovals located at an angle of 45° relative to the vertical of the drawing. Then, inside the eyes, draw pupils in the form of semi-ovals adjacent to the lower part of the eye contour. Then you need to color the pupils black.
- In the middle of the upper part of the beak, draw a nostril in the form of a small grain.
- Along the dividing zigzag line, draw feathers in the form of small lines directed towards the beak. Then, from the upper part of the head contour, draw several of the same feathers, but directed upwards.
- Draw a daisy flower on the top right side of the head.
- On the right side of the body, draw the right wing in the form of a semi-oval, directed upwards. Then draw 4 fingers to this oval in the form of elongated triangles with rounded corners, directed to the right. Draw claws on the fingertips.

The drawing process consists of the following stages:
- Draw the outline of the head in the form of an isosceles triangle with rounded corners and directed at an angle of 45° relative to the vertical of the drawing.
- Inside the head outline, draw another triangle with rounded corners, but slightly smaller in size. The sides of this triangle should be parallel to the sides of the head outline.
- Color the gap between these two triangles black.
- Draw 2 eyes in the form of ovals, parallel to the left and right sides of the head contour. The eyes should completely fill the inner area of the head contour. The size of the left eye should be slightly smaller than the right one.
- Inside the eyes, draw the pupils in the form of two small ovals, and then color them black.
- Above the eyes, draw eyebrows in the form of curved semi-ovals, pointed at the edges. Then you need to paint the lower part of the eyebrows black.
- Fix the pencil in the center of the head outline and from this point draw a large beak in the form of a large grain, directed with the sharp end down perpendicular to the base of the head outline. - Erase with an eraser that part of the head outline that falls into the beak area.
- Draw a piece of cheese in the form of a semicircle, with its straight part perpendicular to the beak. The size of the cheese should occupy almost the entire area of the beak. In the round part of the cheese, in its inner part below, draw a rind in the form of an additional rounded line parallel to the lower part of the cheese, and inside the cheese itself draw holes in the form of small circles.
- Draw cheekbones in the form of 2 semicircles to the left and right corners of the head outline and paint them black.
- Under the lower part of the cheese outline, draw the crow's chest in the form of a semicircle pointing downwards. Then under the chest, draw 2 more semicircles one under the other. The size of each subsequent semicircle should be 1.5 times smaller than the previous one. The result will be a body tapering downwards.
- To the left and right of the body, draw wings in the form of elongated ovals, tapering downwards. The inner parts of these ovals should be slightly cut at an angle of 45° relative to the vertical of the body. Inside each wing, draw feathers in the form of long tubes, rounded at the bottom.
- Under the lower part of the body on the left, draw 3 large claws of the left leg in the form of 3 semi-ovals, pointed downwards, and located vertically close to each other.
- Under the lower part of the body on the right, draw 3 large claws of the right leg in the form of 3 semi-ovals, pointed downwards, and located vertically close to each other.
- Draw the branch (on which the crow sits) as a horizontal tube passing through the crow's claws.
- Under the branch, draw the tail of the crow in the form of 3 elongated tubes, rounded at the bottom and directed downwards. The central tube should be longer than the outer ones.
- Color the crow's chest black and the lower part of its body dark gray.
- Paint the wings dark grey and the bottom part black.
- Color the tail dark gray and the bottom part black.
- Color the beak and claws beige and the nostrils dark beige.
- Color the cheese yellow and its holes and rind orange.

Cool crow

This crow looks very funny, and the process of drawing it is very simple and consists of the following stages:
- Draw a large oval in a vertical position (torso).
- In the lower left part of the oval, draw a triangle extended to the left (tail).
- Erase with an eraser that part of the oval that is inside the resulting general outline of the crow.
- Draw 4 feathers at the top and bottom of the tip of the tail in the form of elongated semi-ovals located perpendicular to the body.
- Fix the pencil in the middle of the left part of the body contour and draw a semicircle inside the body, which should connect with the tip of the tail. The result will be a wing.
- Inside the wing, draw feathers in the form of a horizontal sequence of semi-ovals, connected to each other and located in several rows one under the other.
- Draw a large beak in the form of an equilateral triangle with slightly convex sides. The beak should start from the middle of the body and extend beyond it on the right.
- Inside the beak, draw a horizontal curved line (in the shape of the letter L), which will divide the beak in half. Then, in the upper left part of the beak, you need to draw a nostril in the form of a small circle.
- Draw two large circles (eyes) on the left and right above the beak.
- Draw the eyelid of the left eye by fixing the pencil in the middle of the left part of the eye circle, and then draw a line at an angle of 45° to the vertical of the drawing until it intersects with the right part of the eye contour.
- Draw the eyelid of the right eye by fixing the pencil in the middle of the right part of the eye circle, and then draw a line at an angle of 45° to the vertical of the drawing until it intersects with the left part of the eye contour.
- In the center of the eyes, under the eyelids, draw pupils in the form of small circles.
