In making quality slimes at home, a special substance is most often used - sodium tetraborate.

Sodium tetraborate - what is this substance, its properties

Sodium tetraborate is a medical preparation, which is a solution in glycerin for external and local use. The colorless viscous liquid has antiseptic and disinfectant properties, it is safe for health and is sold in pharmacies without a prescription.

Sodium tetraborate is an effective thickener when creating slimes or smileys, as they are also called. For each toy, you will need only a few drops of this product. After adding the activator, the mass must be thoroughly mixed to obtain an elastic, well-stretching slime.

Slime with sodium tetraborate and PVA glue

To make the slime you will need the following ingredients:

• 100 ml of high-quality PVA glue;
• 50 ml filtered unboiled water;
• 1 tsp liquid food coloring;
• 3-5 drops of sodium tetraborate.

The order of creating a toy is as follows:

1. First, you need to pour the glue into a deep container.
2. Next, you need to add water and mix the ingredients thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
3. Add liquid dye to the mixture.

• ¼ cup shaving foam;
• 2 drops of activator (sodium tetraborate);
• 1 tsp hand cream;

1. Pour half a tube of glue into a previously prepared container.
2. Add shaving foam, hand cream, water and mix the ingredients.
3. To color the mass, add black ink.
4. Thicken the mucus with a drop of sodium tetraborate.
5. After thoroughly mixing, place the mixture on the bottom of a transparent container.
6. Pour the remaining glue into a separate container, add shampoo and shake the mixture.
7. Add the activator to the resulting homogeneous mass.
8. Knead the jelly-like slime with your hands until it thickens.
9. Place the finished white slime on top of the black one.
10. Close the container with the slime tightly with a lid and leave it in a cool place for 24 hours.

After some time, the top layer of the toy will flow down to the bottom, creating the effect of snow-capped mountain peaks.

Aromaslime with sodium tetraborate

It is easy to make a nice smelling slime from available ingredients taken in the following quantities:

• liquid baby soap - 50 ml;
• silicate glue - 70 ml;
• baking soda - 1 tsp;
• sodium tetraborate - 4 drops;
• baby cream - 1 tbsp;
• glitter - 3 g;
• essential oil or perfume - 2 drops.

The procedure for making aroma slime:

1. Pour liquid soap into a bowl and mix in glue.
2. Pour in the baking soda, then add the baby cream.
3. Stir the mixture vigorously with a plastic spoon.
4. Add glitter of your favorite color.
5. Flavor the mixture with perfume or essential oil.
