Children are taught about the dangers of fires already in kindergarten and continue to receive information and education in primary and secondary schools. To ensure that children perceive and absorb information on fire safety well, they are offered make drawings.

Simple drawing for children 3-4 years old
Drawing lessons begin with a conversation during which the causes of fires in houses and apartments are discussed with the kids. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that in every house there are flammable objects (curtains, upholstered furniture, wooden objects).
The behavioral model in case of a fire is discussed: children must remember that it is impossible to hide from a fire. Then they start drawing a picture illustrating a fire in the house.
You can build a master class using:

- oval;
- rectangle;
- triangle.
After repeating the names and shapes of figures with the children, you need to draw their attention to the fact that many objects and things are easy to draw using already familiar geometric shapes.
The drawing may consist of the following components:
- 1-2 houses, they are drawn in the form of squares with triangular roofs;
- in each house it is necessary to make a window - a square smaller in size than the house;
- the fire flame is depicted by several triangles and stripes;
- in the corner of the drawing you need to draw a long line - a hose;
- water is gushing out of the hose - it will be depicted by blue stripes.
For a drawing on the topic of fire safety you will need 5 colored pencils:
- red for fire;
- green and purple for the house;
- brown for the hose;
- blue for water.
Fire engine
Before the start of the lesson, informational preparation is carried out.
Children are shown a toy fire truck and asked questions that stimulate their intellectual development:
- Why are fire department vehicles painted red?
- Why is there a ladder on the roof of the car?

- Which of the children has seen a fire truck moving around the city? At what speed does it usually go and why?

Step-by-step instructions for completing the illustration:
- Place the child’s open palm on a sheet of paper and trace around it with a simple pencil.
- Each finger will represent a person - a firefighter, so on the top of the finger you need to draw a face - eyes, mouth, nose, ears.
- Paint each finger up to the level of the face with a red pencil, symbolizing the work clothes of firefighters.
- A semicircle is drawn on the head of each firefighter with a red pencil – a helmet.
- Next to it, draw another palm print, paint it completely yellow, orange - this will be the flame of the fire.
- On top of the palm with the image of firefighters, we draw a black hose from which blue (light blue) water flows.
When working with children aged 2-3 years, instead of independently drawing the faces of firefighters, you can suggest that children use stickers with emoticons.
Children aged 4-5 draw a fire in the forest
At the beginning of the lesson, the children discuss the causes of forest fires, among which the following should be named:
- careless handling of fire;
- lighting fires;
- broken glass.
Then the children's attention is drawn to the consequences of a forest fire - the death of trees. The children are asked what and what color the burnt trees become, whether leaves and flowers will grow on them, whether birds will build nests. After informational preparation, they begin to make a drawing on the theme of a forest after a fire.
Children are asked to draw burnt trees - they are made in the form of stick-trunks, to which stick-branches are attached. It is necessary to use black and brown pencils. At the bottom of the drawing you can place fire - stripes of red and orange colors that cover the lower parts of the trunks.
If desired, children can add to the picture a sun covered by clouds from a fire.
Fire department phone number
A drawing on fire safety can become an informational aid and reinforce children's knowledge of the telephone number to call the fire department. To do this, you can draw a simple picture with the numbers 101 in large letters.
To begin with, a conversation is held with the children, discussing how to behave in the event of a fire in the house (not to hide in secluded places, but to call 101). The conversation can be supplemented with information that firefighters, when extinguishing a fire, use special equipment - fire extinguishers.
Having shown illustrative material with a picture of a fire extinguisher or a real special tool that is always available in a preschool institution, children are asked to draw a reminder.
In the picture, a fire extinguisher is placed in the center, it is made in the form of a rectangle with rounded corners and painted in red and yellow colors. To help children perceive the information better, you can draw eyes, a mouth, a nose on the fire extinguisher, and hands on the sides, into which you place a hose with a bell.
Next to the fire extinguisher, you need to depict a fire. At the top of the picture, write large numbers 101 or 01.
Firefighting helicopter
Before the master class, the teacher explains that firefighters work not only in the city, but also in the forest, after which the children discuss the causes of forest fires. Then the teacher asks the primary school students to guess what equipment firefighters use to work in the forest.
The correct answers are: vehicles, helicopters. After the children look at the photos of working firefighting helicopters on the poster or slide, they will be asked to draw an illustration on a similar topic. For example, you can put a toy helicopter on the table.
During the lesson, the following skills are practiced with children:
- reflect the proportions of objects;
- show objects partially obscured by each other;
- placement of a complex composition.
The fire safety drawing begins with building a composition: in the foreground there is a forest, a river, they can be supplemented with a lawn, a helicopter is placed above the forest. The forest can be done stylized, as a single green massif, or several different trees can be drawn.
Step by step instructions on how to draw a helicopter:
- Make an oval - this will be the helicopter body.
- Tail section: draw a horizontal line from the top of the oval, and after 2-3 cm – a line parallel to it. At the end, make a 45° turn, finish with a small rectangle.
- Propeller. Draw a small rectangle on top of the oval, then a screw and a long rectangular element.
- Separate part of the oval with a slash and make hatching to indicate the cabin.
- Draw runners at the bottom of the oval.
- Paint the helicopter red and the cockpit blue.

To make children aware of the dangers of playing with fire, they are given a talk during which they are told how quickly household items ignite - curtains and towels, a sofa, electrical appliances. The talk emphasizes that careless handling of electrical appliances and a kitchen stove can cause a fire.
Primary school students are already good with pencils and know how to build compositions in drawings, so they can be asked to draw a room or kitchen engulfed in fire.
First, children make schematic images of furniture (sofa, chair, table) or a gas (electric) stove, using familiar geometric shapes. It is necessary to remind children of the need to maintain proportions and perspective.
Then a flame is placed in the center or corner of the composition. The picture can be supplemented with an image of a child playing with matches or a fairy-tale character.
Another option: depict an iron left unattended on an ironing board and things that caught fire. Children can also draw a kitchen stove, the fire from which spread to the curtains.
After reminding students that fires in residential premises often occur due to faulty sockets and electrical appliances that are not turned off, you can ask them to draw a flaming socket with an electrical appliance plugged into it.
Fire safety signs
During the preparatory lesson, students are introduced to the system of fire safety signs, which ensure the implementation of the algorithm of actions in case of fire, indicate the places where the tools and means of protection are located. It is worth drawing the attention of children that similar signs are also available in the educational institution.

During the open lesson, children learn about the activities of firefighters using posters and presentations. They rescue victims, extinguish fires, and protect forests and fields from fires. During their work, firefighters use a variety of equipment (shovels, hooks, hooks, crowbars), equipment (fire extinguishers, pumps), and vehicles (fire trucks, helicopters).
Firefighters face numerous dangers in their work:
- clothing fire;
- flying sparks;
- destruction of burning objects;
- release of toxic products during combustion;
- scattering of various fragments;

After discussing with the children the ways in which firefighters achieve success, the children are asked to draw a working firefighter, drawing attention to the need to depict the dynamics of the process.
The fire safety drawing begins with drawing the main details: the body, arms and legs should be marked with lines, and the location of the head should be marked with a circle. For dynamism, the knee and elbow joints are first shown schematically with circles, placing one leg slightly forward and tilting the firefighter's body.
Draw a line through the arms and body in advance, marking the location of the fire hose. Next to the figure of the firefighter, draw a flaming object, this can be a forest, a field, a building, a car.
After drawing the pattern, proceed to carefully drawing the suit - pants, jacket, boots and protective helmet, making realistic folds. Finish drawing a cylinder, mask or gas mask on the back. Draw the face, which is visible behind the protective glass, paying special attention to the eyes. You can add flame reflections to the glass.
